Commercial Contracts Manager, EMEA
Job type: Full Time · Department: Legal · Work type: Remote
United Kingdom
About the role:
10x Genomics tools fuel scientific discoveries and drive exponential progress to master biology to advance human health for researchers across the globe. More of that technology is reaching labs than at any point in our history, almost none of it possible without a tender won or a contract signed.
As Commercial Contracts Manager, EMEA, you are the primary legal contact and business partner for EMEA Sales across a full range of customer-facing legal tasks, including drafting and negotiating terms of sale, master supply agreements, collaborations, and MOUs, owning tender processes end to end, and making the call when a deal needs an answer today. This is an individual contributor, remote-based role reporting to the Associate Director, Commercial Contracts, as part of a global contracts team, working at pace in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
This is not a role for administering standardised processes. You will thrive in an environment in which much of what you meet will be new, and you are trusted to propose solutions and implement them, often on deadlines measured in days. You are a specialist in removing contracting friction while managing risk appropriately, and you naturally build the relationships, internally and with customers, that make it all possible.
Key responsibilities:
As the primary legal team contact for all sales-related matters across EMEA, work with sales, customer service, finance, marketing, legal colleagues, and other internal teams across the full range of sales-related legal matters
Own the legal aspects of EMEA tender processes end-to-end
Analyse and interpret complex contractual provisions to ensure compliance and consistency
Negotiate with sophisticated counterparties, such as universities, research institutions, pharma, and biotechnology companies
Develop and deliver training to sales and other commercial team members
Contribute to the investigation and implementation of AI tools to support the team’s work and improve efficiency and scalability
Minimum requirements:
Multi-year experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements within the life sciences industry, preferably for a research tools company
Demonstrable experience with public procurement in major EMEA markets
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
Highly organised, excellent communication skills, and detail-oriented
Ability to assess legal and business risks and provide rapid, pragmatic solutions in urgent and demanding situations
Self-directed and proactive, comfortable executing on multiple projects independently and in collaboration with others
Available during European business hours
Preferred skills and/or experience:
Commercial contracting experience across RUO and diagnostic products and services, and SaaS offerings
Understanding of the principles of revenue recognition
Experience with implementing and using AI tools, in particular for contract review and management
Law degree and/or qualification to practice as a lawyer in any jurisdiction
Our teams are empowered and encouraged to follow their passions, pursue new ideas, and perform at their best in an inclusive and dynamic environment.
