About Alaffia & Our Mission

Every year, U.S. health plans lose billions to improper payments and administrative waste. That wasted spending ultimately trickles down across the healthcare ecosystem, driving up costs for plans, providers, and patients alike. We’re here to change that paradigm.

Alaffia is a new kind of claims operations partner for health plans. Using expert clinicians and transparent AI, we deliver deeper insights, smarter automation, and consistently better outcomes across the entire lifecycle of claims. With Alaffia, health plans can cut wasted spending more effectively than ever — and provide their members the most affordable care.

We’re a high-growth, venture-backed Series B healthtech startup based in NYC and are actively scaling our company. Join us in helping to build a healthcare system that works better for everyone.

*This position requires current authorization to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to sponsor work visas at this time.

About the Role & What You'll Be Doing

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and optimization of Alaffia’s Payment Integrity workflow platform. This role is responsible for shaping the product vision across our core auditing application, automation capabilities, and emerging GenAI-driven features that empower Payment Integrity Auditors (PIAs) and operations teams to efficiently identify, validate, and realize claim savings for our health plan clients.

As a senior product leader, you will define long-term product direction, drive measurable business outcomes, and guide cross-functional teams through complex prioritization, delivery, and iteration cycles.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own and execute the product strategy for the Managed Service App and Automation Roadmap, including core data schema evolution, scalable data ingestion pipelines, UX and feature enhancements, end-to-end workflow optimization, and AI/ML/GenAI-driven automation.

  • Define and prioritize features that directly impact key operational and financial metrics such as claim throughput, claims savings, audit findings throughput, and review lead time.

  • Establish and communicate a clear product vision and multi-quarter roadmap that balances workflow efficiency, auditor experience, system performance, and platform extensibility.

  • Identify opportunities to apply GenAI (e.g., natural-language review automation, claim summarization, agentic workflow orchestration, exception handling) to reduce reviewer burden and improve audit quality.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the product owner for Payment Integrity workflows, partnering closely with PI Operations leadership to deeply understand user needs, pain points, and process inefficiencies.

  • Collaborate with Engineering to drive efficient delivery, manage technical debt, align architecture decisions with long-term product strategy, and ensure scalable system design.

  • Collaborate with AI teams to define use cases, evaluate model feasibility, drive experimentation, validate accuracy and safety requirements, and integrate intelligent agents and GenAI capabilities into payment integrity production workflows.

  • Coordinate with Data Engineering to enhance data ingestion, reporting, analytics, and automation capabilities aligned with customer and internal operational needs.

  • Ensure product compliance with healthcare security and privacy requirements, including supporting HITRUST R2 certification activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including experience owning major product areas end-to-end in SaaS, healthcare technology, or workflow-centric platforms.

  • Proven experience defining product strategy, building roadmaps, and leading cross-functional teams at scale.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate operational goals and user needs into actionable product requirements and measurable outcomes.

  • Experience delivering workflow automation, enterprise-grade applications, or operational tooling for complex business processes.

  • Ability to work through ambiguity, drive alignment across diverse teams, and communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience with agile development methodologies and product roadmap planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain expertise in healthcare payment integrity, claims auditing, medical billing, or related operational workflows.

  • Working knowledge of clinical coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, DRG) and claim data structures.

  • Hands-on experience building or integrating AI/ML or GenAI-powered features—such as task automation, classification models, natural language workflows, or agent-based systems.

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA and HITRUST.

  • Background in B2B SaaS products, particularly those used by operations, clinical, or financial teams.

  • Experience with low-code configuration tools, workflow engines, or rules-based automation platforms.
