New Product Designer (Jewellery Designer)

Job type: Full Time · Department: E-Commerce · Work type: On-Site

Bangalore Division, Karnataka, India

Role Snapshot:

Experience:  4–6 years · portfolio-led (craft matters more than years)

You own the new-product-design pipeline for Srimandir's spiritual jewellery & accessories — rashi bracelets, pendants, malas, rudraksha, gemstone and deity-led pieces. Your job is to turn devotional meaning into a desirable product: take rashi, gemstone remedies, rudraksha and deities and design pieces people genuinely want to wear — authentic enough to be believed, styled for today, and shaped by what the consumer actually responds to. You bridge three worlds that rarely sit at one table:

What you’ll Champion:

  • Product design & the NPD pipeline. Concept to spec — form, materials, stones, metals, finish and sizing; run a steady pipeline of launches (tech packs, prototypes, sampling and vendor coordination).

  • Spirituality × jewellery — get the meaning right. Encode genuine devotional meaning into every piece (rashi, gemstone remedy, rudraksha mukhi, deity, yantra); work with the astrology / content side so authenticity holds up to scrutiny.

  • Fashion & wearability — the design lens. Bring trend awareness and a contemporary aesthetic; design for daily wear, styling and gifting — pieces people choose to wear, not just to own.

  • Consumer-led design. Design from insight, not assumption — who the wearer is, the occasion, the price they'll pay; translate cultural belief + consumer behaviour into product decisions, then read post-launch data and iterate.

  • Collections & design language. Build cohesive, occasion- and calendar-timed collections with a recognisable Srimandir design language — and shape the visual story that sells them (photography direction, naming, packaging feel).

  • A steady pipeline of launches that sell — new pieces contributing meaningful revenue.

  • Products that are both believed and worn — visible in conversion, repeat, reviews and low returns.

  • A recognisable Srimandir design language across the jewellery range.

  • Design calls are grounded in consumer insight and post-launch data, not taste alone.

What is needed for this role

  • 4–6 years in jewellery / accessory / product design — a strong portfolio matters more than years.

  • Real craft: materials, stones, metals and manufacturing; comfort with CAD / jewellery design tools (Rhino / Matrix / Illustrator), tech packs and prototyping.

  • A genuine feel for spirituality / devotional / astrology culture — or the hunger to learn it deeply (rashi, gemstones, rudraksha, vedic meaning).

  • Fashion and trend sensibility with a strong wearability instinct.

  • Consumer empathy — designs from insight, reads data, and iterates fast.

  • D2C / e-commerce Jewellery  product experience and fast NPD cycles.

  • Product-photography / visual-merchandising direction; comfort with AI-assisted concepting (e.g. Midjourney).
