About the opportunity
Aramya is just getting started: with 14 thriving stores in Bangalore and a massive pipeline ahead, we are targeting 100 stores in the next 12–18 months. To anchor this aggressive footprint, we are hiring a Retail HR Lead.
You will own the entire lifecycle of our retail workforce. You will be the strategic and operational custodian of HR for our stores—architecting a high-velocity hiring engine, setting up seamless onboarding, managing employee relations, and driving retention policies across multiple store formats. You will partner directly with Retail Leadership to ensure our store teams embody the Aramya experience daily.
Key responsibilities
End-to-End Talent Acquisition: Strategize and lead high-volume recruitment for all store-level roles (Store Managers, Cluster Managers, Fashion Consultants/Sales Staff, Visual Merchandisers, Support Staff and Interns).
High-Velocity Scalability: Build a predictable hiring engine utilizing walk-ins, localized sourcing, agency partnerships, and referrals to drastically reduce Time-to-Hire (TAT) as we scale to 100+ stores.
HR Operations & Onboarding: Oversee the smooth onboarding, compliance, biometric/attendance systems, and payroll inputs for all frontline retail staff.
Employee Relations & Compliance: Manage store-level employee relations, grievance redressal, and ensure strict adherence to local retail labor laws and shop establishment acts.
Retention & Performance Management: Design and implement localized engagement initiatives, incentive structures, and performance assessment cycles to curb the high attrition native to retail operations.
Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the primary HR business partner to the Head of Retail Ops and Cluster Managers, aligning manpower planning with store launch timelines.
Key skills & qualifications
10+ years of total HR experience, with at least 5+ years dedicated to Retail HR (handling both hiring and store HR operations).
Past experience in Fashion/Apparel Retail or high-growth lifestyle D2C brands is highly preferred (Good to have).
A proven track record of managing frontline, blue-collar, or grey-collar workforce scale (understanding what drives them, how to evaluate them, and how to retain them).
Exceptional ownership and the ability to build processes from scratch in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
Deep knowledge of retail dynamics, high-volume recruitment metrics (offer-to-join ratios, cost-per-hire), and retail labor compliance.
