About the opportunity
We are looking for a technically strong Apparel Merchandiser who has hands-on experience in the garment industry and a good understanding of garment construction, costing, production processes and market intelligence.
Key responsibilities
Minimum 5 years of experience in the Apparel/Garment Industry.
Strong technical knowledge of garments, including garment construction, fabrics, trims, processes and manufacturing techniques.
Good understanding of garment costing, including fabric consumption, trims, CMT/stitching, processing, embroidery/printing and other value additions.
Ability to analyse and validate garment cost sheets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Understanding of BOM, consumption, SAM/SMV, operation breakdown and manufacturing processes.
Ability to study garments/styles and understand their construction, manufacturing complexity and cost implications.
Strong knowledge of different fabric types, fabric compositions, GSM, construction and their impact on garment costing.
Understanding of market pricing and competitor products.
Ability to conduct market intelligence / competitor benchmarking on product, fabric, construction, pricing and value proposition.
Key skills & qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience
Apparel / Garment Industry
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Technology / Garment Technology / Apparel Production / Textile & Garment-related technical discipline
Candidates from NIFT with B.F.Tech (Apparel Production) will be preferred.
Candidates with a relevant Garment Technical degree from other reputed institutes may also be considered.
