About the Role

Cover Genius is seeking an Insurance Product Manager to join our insurance product team in developing and sourcing new products, and maintaining and enhancing existing products. 

Cover Genius Insurance Product Managers are the resident experts across insurance product lines and the go-to resource for coverage analysis and innovation, pricing, and regulations. You will be responsible for all aspects of products sourced and developed within our operations including developing and communicating product line strategies, and supporting the partnerships team in providing product solutions in order to meet partner demands and increase market penetration. 

You will also take ownership of relationships with new and existing insurers, fostering meaningful dialogue and steering strategic conversations to achieve business outcomes.

This role will be based in our Sydney office and is a hybrid working role. What does hybrid mean here at Cover Genius? this means Monday, Tuesday and Friday collaboration in office. There is plenty of flexibility with the added benefit of one wellness day a month available. 

What will your day look like? You will be responsible for ...

1. Development of new general and life insurance products across various business verticals and supporting the partnerships team with customer-centric solutions

2. Establishing and nurturing strong, collaborative partnerships with new and existing insurers to drive mutual growth and success

3. Lead end-to-end partner launches from a product perspective, from product development and supply sourcing to overseeing seamless integration efforts, ensuring successful go-to-market execution

4. Day to day management existing product portfolios, including reporting and improvements to underwriting, product and policy wording  

5. General management of and guiding of underwriting efforts and policy requirements/issues including supply side partner management 

6. Weekly and monthly general reporting including presenting commentary at meetings as needed

7. Managing day-to-day product requirements with underwriters, including content reviews, coverage requests and pricing

8. Monitoring of regulatory developments across product lines

9. Work closely with the partnership team on developing new partnerships and preparing proposals and financial modeling

10. Produce reports and analyze performance to maximize opportunity and market share

To help us level up, you'll ideally have:

• 5+ years of recent working experience in the insurance industry, preferably Life Insurance

• ASIC’s Regulatory Guideline 146 (RG 146)

• Experience in designing and writing policy wordings and other insurance related documentation

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. A postgraduate degree and/or record of academic achievement is also desirable

• Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing

• Problem solving and advocating for customer solutions

• Proven ability to foster and develop relationships with key external and internal stakeholders

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to independently take initiative on projects 

• Ability to adapt quickly to a start-up pace environment and culture
