AvantStay delivers world class, authentic, tech-enabled short-term rental (“STR”) group experiences targeted at the millennial generation. We are venture funded and growing rapidly in the explosive $100+ billion dollar STR industry. We deliver a customized end-to-end experience that is tailored just for groups and powered with technology at every layer.
AvantStay is in dozens of U.S. markets, and each one has its own rhythm, its own partners and its own way of getting noticed. A national brand can only get you so far in Scottsdale or the Smokies. The rest comes from being known locally: by the restaurant that recommends you, the planner who books you, the realtor who sends you owners. We're looking for a Head of Local Marketing & Partnerships to make AvantStay feel like home turf in every market we operate in.
You'll build local marketing at AvantStay from scratch and run it across every market, as the marketing partner to each of our area managers. You'll decide how each market earns attention, which relationships are worth building, and where the money goes. You'll own the budget across all of it, and the practical side that makes local marketing real: the things we put in homes, the materials in the field, the vendors who make them. You'll find partners, pitch them and close them yourself. You will not inherit a playbook. You'll write it, prove it, then teach it to every area manager.
If cold email and cold calls drain you, this is the wrong job. If a yes from a stranger makes your week, read on.
What this title means here: you are the first hire in this function. No team yet, budget authority from day one, and you report to our VP of Growth.
The local plan. A clear, simple strategy for every market, built with its area manager.
The budget. How much each market gets, what it returns, and the monthly case for moving it.
Local partnerships. The relationships that put AvantStay in front of guests and owners where they already are. You source them, pitch them and close them.
Local campaigns. Market-specific promotions, content and offers that drive direct bookings and owner leads.
The physical side. Branded merchandise, welcome touches, collateral and print, from vendor to doorstep, in every market.
Launches. How a new market or hotel shows up locally from day one.
Local reputation. Our presence in local listings, press and the community, so we're the operator people know.
The playbook. Templates, scripts, kits and a request system that let every area manager run local marketing without starting from zero.
Partnerships you landed through your own cold outreach, and the emails and calls that did it.
Experience planning and tracking marketing budget across many locations or markets at once, and moving money when the results said to.
Hands-on experience with branded merchandise, print and fulfillment: vendors, quotes, quality, timelines, inventory. You've had an order go wrong and fixed it.
The follow-up discipline to keep going after the first no.
Strong organization. You can run 10 to 30 markets at different stages without dropping any, with a clean pipeline in a CRM.
Clear, friendly writing and speaking that works with a small-town restaurant owner and a destination marketing director alike.
Working knowledge of local listings and local SEO basics, email tools and spreadsheets, plus AI tools to research markets and draft outreach.
3+ years in local, regional or field marketing, partnerships or business development for a multi-location consumer brand (hospitality, fitness, restaurants, real estate or tourism). We care more about the partners you've closed than the years.
Nice to have:
You know U.S. destination and tourism markets.
You've launched new locations or markets for a brand.
Event planning or hospitality operations experience.
This role is not:
B2B field marketing. No trade shows, no ABM, no pipeline targets for a sales team.
A paid media role. You'll work with paid, but you won't run the accounts.
An events-only role. Events are one tool among many.
A desk job in your own time zone. You'll be on the phone with partners during their business hours.
This role is only open to global candidates outside the United States
Must be able to work US business hours (Pacific, Central, or Eastern time)
Must have excellent written and spoken English (near-native)
Fully remote
Generous paid time off, including local holiday
A build-from-zero mandate with budget authority from day one.
You report to our VP of Growth.
