You've built inside a parcel or postal network. You've seen recipients tell one carrier exactly what they want, and watched that intent disappear the moment their next parcel arrives on someone else's van. Now build the neutral layer that carries it across.

Beam is the corporate venture builder of BEUMER Group, a global leader in intralogistics. We co-found B2B SaaS startups with entrepreneurial talent to solve critical problems across the logistics and industrial sectors.

As Co-Founder in Residence, you'll validate one of our pre-validated venture opportunities over up to 18 months, with Beam's team and BEUMER's network behind you, and prepare to launch the company.

The Opportunity

European parcel volume passed 20 billion in 2024, and consumers now hit a delivery problem on more than one in three orders. Every major carrier ships a preference profile (DHL, UPS, bpost) but none of them travel across the network boundary. Retailers pick the carrier at checkout with no visibility, and operators absorb the cost of the guess as redelivery, exceptions, and lost repeat business.

We want to build the neutral intent layer for European parcel networks: a portable recipient profile, an authorised change instruction operators can act on, and, as the market matures, a settlement layer between operators who compete on service but could earn on capacity they already own.

What we look for

We're open on the shape of your career, but you should have deep operator or founder experience in parcel, postal, or last-mile, enough to walk into a room of ops, product, or legal leaders at a CEP carrier and be taken seriously on day one. You've likely done some combination of:

• Built or scaled a company in parcel, postal, last-mile, or delivery experience

• Run product, commercial, or operations inside a CEP carrier, postal operator, 3PL, or 4PL

• Worked on carrier integrations, delivery APIs, tracking, or claims at a shipping platform or retailer

• A founder-like mindset: independent, driven, and resourceful

• An academic background (MBA or MSc preferred) and strong analytical skills

• Fluency in English; German is a bonus but not required

What You'll Work On

• Validate the commercial opportunity for a neutral intent and cross-carrier execution layer across European operators

• Run 25+ interviews with operators, retailers, and insurers; establish preference-mismatch and failure-attribution baselines no European operator has published

• Test the critical binary: will a carrier accept a third party acting for the recipient under a tri-party mandate?

• Define the wedge product, MVP, and route to a two-sided platform

• Secure LOIs from operators and partners

• Pitch to Beam and BEUMER Group to secure funding and launch the venture

• If the startup reaches go-to-market, Beam's funding committee secures minimum 18 months runway after every round
