Head of Sales (BukuPay PH)
Job type: Full Time · Department: Philippines · Work type: On-Site

About BukuPay
BukuPay is the payments arm of BukuWarung, one of Southeast Asia's leading MSME fintech platforms. Built on a proven model that has helped millions of small and medium businesses across Indonesia manage transactions, track cash flow, and grow — we're now bringing that same know-how to the Philippines together with local strategic partners.
We're at an exciting early stage in the Philippine market, which means you'll be one of the first boots on the ground, building the merchant base from scratch and shaping how BukuPay shows up in this market. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role.
BukuWarung is backed by Y-Combinator, AC Ventures, Quona Capital, East Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, Rocketship.vc, and Tanglin Venture Partners.
BukuPay PH is scaling its merchant acquisition and payments distribution across the Philippines through a fleet of ~200 Sales Field Agents. We're looking for a Head of Field Sales to lead this fleet end-to-end — someone who sells personally, understands the ground reality of each territory, and makes the daily call on where the fleet should be deployed to maximize sales.
This is a working sales leader role, not a pure people-manager seat. You'll be as close to the field as you are to the numbers — reading daily performance, adjusting area coverage on the fly, and driving the fleet toward targets through sharp territory strategy.
What You'll Do
Sales Leadership & Daily Area Strategy
Personally drive sales execution and hold ultimate accountability for the fleet's numbers
Analyze daily/weekly field performance by area and decide where the fleet should focus next — reallocating field agents across territories based on merchant density, conversion trends, and competitive activity
Build a sharp, ground-level understanding of each territory: merchant concentration, saturation, and untapped pockets
Continuously test and refine area coverage strategy, not just execute a fixed routing plan
Fleet & Team Management (~200 Sales Field Agents)
Own end-to-end performance management of the ~200-strong Sales Field Agent fleet across all assigned regions
Set, cascade, and track daily/weekly/monthly sales targets and KPIs down to area and individual level
Recruit, onboard, and train new field agents in partnership with vendor/agency partners
Build and manage working schedules, shift coverage, and daily field deployment plans
Vendor & Agency Management
Manage relationships with manpower/vendor agencies (e.g. PEI, TMPI) supplying field agents
Monitor agency SLAs, headcount fulfillment, and contract compliance
Handle escalations, underperformance, and offboarding/removal processes with vendor partners
Performance & Reporting
Track fleet productivity, merchant acquisition numbers, and attrition against targets
Build and maintain performance dashboards/trackers for leadership visibility
Identify underperforming areas/agents and drive corrective action plans
Field Operations
Conduct regular field visits to monitor agent conduct, merchant quality, and process adherence
Ensure compliance with company policies (working hours, code of conduct, incentive structures)
Partner with Area/Regional leads to solve on-ground operational issues quickly
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product, Growth, and People Ops to align field execution with company priorities
Feed field insights back into incentive design, territory planning, and process improvements
15-20 years in field sales, distribution, or fleet/agent-based sales models (fintech, telco, FMCG, or similar direct sales industries), with substantial experience leading at Head/senior leadership level
Proven, hands-on sales track record — this person sells and leads by example, not just from a dashboard
Experience managing large, distributed field teams of 150+ agents (own hires and/or third-party vendor agents)
Sharp instinct for territory/area strategy — reading ground signals and reallocating field resources daily
Experience managing manpower/vendor agencies and holding them to SLAs
Comfortable with high field presence — this is not a desk job
Data-driven: comfortable building and reading performance trackers/dashboards to inform daily area decisions
Strong people leadership — training, motivating, and holding a large frontline team accountable
Based in or willing to be based in the Philippines with regional travel
Nice to Have
Strong background in retail — this is strongly preferred over other industry backgrounds
Experience in payments, fintech, or MSME-focused distribution
Prior experience scaling a field team from early stage
