Senior AI & Technical Recruiter

Job type: Full Time · Department: People · Work type: Remote

United States

At Carrum, we are transforming how we pay for, deliver and experience healthcare. If you are passionate about changing healthcare and want to finally get rid of surprise bills, poor quality, and high prices, while thriving in an entrepreneurial, cutting-edge environment, we would love to connect with you.

In 2014 Carrum reinvented the Centers of Excellence (COE) category in digital health. Today, 95% of the US population lives within 50 miles of a Carrum COE and our providers rank in the top 10% nationally. Our team’s execution has been recognized by the venture community and we’ve raised more than $96M in aggregate from investors like OMERS, Tiger Global Management and Wildcat Ventures. Our impact has been externally proven in a 2021 RAND Corporation study and featured as a Harvard Business School (HBS) case study.

While our Care Team is our heart, our Technology Team is the engine. Reporting to our SVP of People, we are looking for a Senior AI & Technical Recruiter who can find the brilliant minds capable of building the digital marketplace that powers our novel value-based care solution.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 -$190,000 depending on geography and level of experience, plus competitive equity and a 15% annual bonus.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will own..

  • The Technical Recruiting Blueprint: As the foundational lead for this pillar, you will design and execute the end-to-end technical hiring strategy. You aren't just following a process; you are building the playbook for how Carrum identifies, vets, and closes high-quality technical talent.

  • High-Velocity Full-Cycle Execution: You will treat the candidate journey like a production pipeline—fast, reliable, and automated where possible. You’ll maintain a high volume of active candidates while ensuring an elite candidate experience where no one sits in a stage for more than 48 hours.

  • Creative & Inclusive Sourcing: You will utilize advanced sourcing techniques to attract and engage high-quality, diverse technical talent. You’re not just waiting for applicants; you act as a strategic "scout" by mapping AI hubs and donor companies to proactively hunt high-conviction, diverse pipelines of LLM, RAG, and Infrastructure talent.

  • Data-Driven Funnel Optimization: You’ll provide weekly "Funnel Health" reports to the SVP of People, identifying bottlenecks in conversion and pivoting your technical sourcing strategy in real-time.

  • Exceptional Vetting & Advocacy: You will drive industry-leading interview-to-offer ratios by predicting hiring manager preferences and refining assessment frameworks. You’ll ensure a high-touch, transparent journey that turns technical talent into long-term brand ambassadors.

  • Strategic Talent Advisor: You will act as a high-conviction talent advisor to Technology leads, moving beyond "resume filling" to provide consultative market insights. You will build rigorous tracking systems that eliminate the "black hole" of recruiting, ensuring stakeholders always have a data-driven view of exactly where the pipeline stands and what is coming next

  • Strategic Mission Narrative: You will develop a profound understanding of Carrum’s value-based care model and business goals to effectively pitch our vision and "sell" high-quality  technical talent on our long-term impact.

We’re excited about you because you…

  • Are a Technical Veteran: You bring 6+ years of experience doing technical recruiting, preferably with 3+ years in a high-growth startup.

  • Obsessed with Funnel Optimization: You live and breathe Interview-to-Offer ratios and Candidate NPS. You believe that a technical recruiting pipeline should operate like a well-oiled CI/CD process: fast, automated where possible, and thorough enough to catch every "bug" before the offer stage.

  • Speak the Language: You understand the nuances between a Data Engineer and a Data Scientist and can spot the difference between a "check-the-box" coder and a true product innovator.

  • Are a Natural Storyteller: You can articulate our value-based care mission to a Senior AI Engineer with infectious enthusiasm.

  • AI-Optimized & Tech-Forward: You aren't just a user of recruiting tools; you are an architect of the talent stack. You leverage AI-driven sourcing and automated workflows to eliminate the mundane, ensuring our hiring engine runs lean while you focus on high-value human conversion.

Why you’ll love working with us...

  • We’re a hard-working, humble, and compassionate group motivated to solve the hard problems in healthcare today. You’ll work with talented, experienced co-workers from companies like Booz & Company, Livongo, 98point6, Google, and Optum. We believe in using data to inform decisions, technology to make our jobs easier, and creative thinking to pave the future.

  • We are working with some of the most recognized and esteemed names in the country. Top hospitals like Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, Stanford Health Care, Scripps Health, and Rush Health have joined our platform. Employers who use our benefit include US Foods, United Airlines, and large public sector organizations like the self-insured schools of California, and the State of Maine.

  • We empower team members to be autonomous and provide a collaborative environment where you get support and healthy feedback. You can bring your authentic self to work every day and are encouraged to help others do the same.

  • We carve out time to let go of work to celebrate our successes and have fun. We’re a remote-first company with employees all over the United States and two office locations in San Francisco and Chicago. We support our employees during the work day and beyond with flexible working hours, generous time off, paid parental leave, and opportunities to connect with coworkers both virtually and in-person.

  • We embrace our team’s diversity of thought, experience, and interests and know that doing so makes us stronger as a company. Carrum has an active employee-led Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) committee and several employee resource groups (ERGs). Our ERGS help employees build stronger connections through social, educational, and community activities.

  • You’ll feel proud that the work you do each day directly impacts people’s lives in big and meaningful ways.

Other benefits:

  • Stock option plan

  • Flexible schedules and remote work

  • Chicago and San Francisco offices available
