Operations Specialist I
Job type: Full Time · Department: Care Operations · Work type: Remote
United States
At Carrum, we live and breathe the mission of transforming the healthcare system to create an unmatched experience for patients. If you are passionate about changing healthcare and want to finally get rid of surprise bills, poor quality, and high prices, while thriving in an entrepreneurial, cutting-edge environment, we would love to connect with you.
In 2014 Carrum reinvented the Centers of Excellence (COE) category in digital health. Today, 90% of the US population lives within 50 miles of a Carrum COE and our providers rank in the top 10% nationally. Our team’s execution has been recognized by the venture community and we’ve raised more than $96M in aggregate from investors like OMERS, Tiger Global Management and Wildcat Ventures. Our impact has been externally proven in a 2021 RAND Corporation study and featured as a Harvard Business School (HBS) case study.
The Operations Specialist is an essential driver of our daily delivery. In this "Developing" role, you handle a variety of factors to resolve problems of moderate scope. You are moving beyond strictly following a manual; instead, you exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine the best course of action.
You are responsible for identifying inefficiencies, optimizing systems, and implementing solutions that enhance scalability. You will act as a bridge between Patient Care, Clinical Operations, Tech, and Data Analytics. You operate under firm direction but are expected to manage your own workflow and anticipate delays before they become blockers.
The hourly rate for this role is $24.00-25.00/hr depending on geography and level of experience, plus equity and an annual bonus.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...
Master Core Execution: Execute daily tasks accurately and on time with clear direction, following documented processes carefully to support the end-to-end patient journey.
Optimize the Patient Journey: Collaborate across teams (Care, Tech, Analytics, Provider Ops, Finance) to refine the workflows and tools that directly support the patient experience.
Coordinate Complex Logistics: Assist in managing patient travel needs and intricate coordination efforts, ensuring no detail is overlooked in a patient's care journey.
Streamline & Solve: Continuously evaluate where procedures can be updated and identify opportunities to eliminate "tedious tasks" through smarter team policies.
Beta-Test Innovation: Act as a key stakeholder in product development by testing patient-facing and internal tools, providing critical feedback to the Tech team prior to release.
Master the Data: Support reporting and information management by collecting and cleaning data, ensuring the Care and Operations teams have accurate insights to drive decisions.
Be a Voice for Improvement: Contribute fresh ideas and insights that lead to more efficient internal systems and better outcomes for our patients.
We’re excited about you because…
You typically have 0–2 years of relevant experience and are eager to build your core skills in a fast-paced health-tech environment.
You recognize when you are stuck and seek input to get unstuck. You listen actively, ask clarifying questions, and treat every day as an opportunity to grow.
You have a track record of executing tasks with high attention to detail and flagging concerns immediately if something seems off.
You treat every patient and teammate with patience, kindness, and respect. You have a "patient-first" mentality and a knack for troubleshooting.
You stay positive when things change and are comfortable improving live processes while maintaining a high level of discretion with confidential information.
You are committed to following documented policies and adhering strictly to HIPAA requirements.
You are comfortable interacting through a variety of tech platforms and can quickly learn new software.
Why you’ll love working with us...
We’re a hard-working, humble, and compassionate group motivated to solve the hard problems in healthcare today. You’ll work with talented, experienced co-workers from companies like Booz & Company, Livongo, 98point6, Google, and Optum.
