Cancer Care Growth Strategy Internship

Job type: Internship · Department: General Management · Work type: Remote

United States

At Carrum, we live and breathe the mission of transforming the healthcare system to create an unmatched experience for patients. If you are passionate about changing healthcare and want to finally get rid of surprise bills, poor quality, and high prices, while thriving in an entrepreneurial, cutting-edge environment, we would love to connect with you.

In 2014 Carrum reinvented the Centers of Excellence (COE) category in digital health. Today, 90% of the US population lives within 50 miles of a Carrum COE and our providers rank in the top 10% nationally. Our team’s execution has been recognized by the venture community and we’ve raised more than $96M in aggregate from investors like OMERS, Tiger Global Management and Wildcat Ventures. Our impact has been externally proven in a 2021 RAND Corporation study and featured as a Harvard Business School (HBS) case study.

We’re rebuilding healthcare from the ground up and looking for interns to play a critical role in our success. We’ve experienced tremendous growth in the last few years and we’re looking to bring on interns who can embody our company mission and values and be assets to our teams!

This internship program runs for 10 weeks from June 8 to August 14, 2026 and is open to recent graduates and grand students. The internship is remote and has a stipend of $7,500.00 paid in semi-monthly installments.

The Cancer Care Growth Strategy Intern will report to the General Manager - Cancer Care. You will be responsible for working on a high value project to increase the number of people who can take use the cancer benefit. This means you will help calculate the total opportunity from the initiative, manage execution through cross-functional collaboration, identify issues and risks, and make recommendations for changes to meet desired goals. Specific deliverables will be outlined at the beginning of your internship.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Map and document end-to-end process flows for operationalizing initiatives, including development of supporting assets such as scripting, training materials, and onboarding resources

  • Build a reporting dashboard to track initiative progress and key metrics, enabling ongoing visibility for business unit leadership

  • Learn how to manage execution of complex, cross functional initiatives in a high growth healthcare technology company

  • Have opportunities to develop strategic and impactful analyses that support the projects  key objectives and priorities

  • Learn how AI tools are deployed in real world business settings (with the opportunity to augment!)

  • Present your findings and recommendations to leaders and teams across our organization.

  • Get exposure to business leaders at the cutting edge of healthcare

We’re excited about you because…

You want to gain experience in a fast-paced digital health startup, and you’re yearning for an opportunity to take your current experience and apply it to a fresh new opportunity that is poised for enormous growth. You:

  • Are available from June 8, 2025 to August 18, 2026

  • Have your own laptop or computer and a stable internet connection in order to work remotely

  • Have experience with data analysis and quantitative modeling; ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, decision-ready insights (healthcare or payer/employer data experience a plus)

  • Are a strong project and process thinker: comfortable moving between strategic framing and operational detail, with the ability to develop structured workflows and stakeholder-facing materials

  • Possess project management experience, exhibit data driven thinking and can structure complex problems for resolution

  • Are comfortable with deadlines and being accountable to others that are counting on you

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Have a demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Why you’ll love your summer at Carrum...

  • You'll do real work that matters. This isn't a coffee-and-shadow internship. You'll own a project with measurable outcomes that the team will actually use and you'll be able to point to your impact when the summer wraps.

  • You'll learn from people who've done it before. Our team includes experienced operators from companies like Booz & Company, Livongo, Google, and Optum. You'll get exposure to how high-performing teams think, make decisions, and build in a fast-moving environment.

  • You'll see what it looks like to change healthcare. Carrum works with top health systems — Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, Stanford Health Care — and employers like Walgreens, United Airlines, and large public sector organizations. The problems we're solving are real, and so is the impact.

  • You'll be trusted to do your job. We give team members, including interns, real autonomy. You'll get support and feedback, but you won't be micromanaged. We want you to bring your own ideas and perspective to the work.

  • You'll be part of a team that has fun. We celebrate wins, make space to recharge, and genuinely enjoy working together. Whether it's virtual events, team rituals, or just a great Slack channel, you'll feel like part of the team, not a summer visitor.

  • You'll leave with more than a line on your resume. By the end of 10 weeks, you'll have built something, measured its impact, and presented your findings to stakeholders. That's a real portfolio piece, and a preview of what a career in this field can look like.
