Associate - Merchant Risk

Role Overview:

Cashfree Payments is seeking a skilled professional to join our Merchant Risk team as an Associate - Merchant Risk. This role requires expertise in handling Chargebacks, Disputes, and Chargeback Disputes, as well as liaisoning with local government agencies and law enforcement agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and proficiency in using screening tools and monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into Chargebacks, Disputes, and Chargeback Disputes, and resolve them efficiently to minimize financial losses.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Risk, Operations, and Customer Support, to ensure seamless communication and effective resolution of issues.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local government agencies and law enforcement agencies to stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices.

  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.

  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Merchant Risk team.

  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as AML/CFT regulations, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring.

  • Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop reports to present findings to senior management.

  • Work closely with the Compliance team to ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's products and services, as well as industry trends and emerging risks.

  • Collaborate with the Training team to develop training programs and materials for the Merchant Risk team.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments, best practices, and emerging risks to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.

  • Develop and maintain a network of external contacts, including government agencies, law enforcement agencies, and industry experts, to stay informed on regulatory changes and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and RBI/FIU-IND guidelines.

  • Hands-on experience with the FIU-IND portal for STR filing.

  • Proficiency in sanctions screening tools and transaction monitoring systems.

  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in Merchant Risk and from Online payments background.
