About the Role
As a Manager of the Developer Experience team, you will build and lead a team which builds, improves and maintains the tools, platforms and processes we use, enabling our developers to build with speed, confidence and security. To drive success in this role, you will have a customer oriented mindset and a track record of mentoring engineers and building high-performing engineering teams.
You will act as a product manager and engineering lead for our internal platforms, treating other engineers as your customers. You will gather requirements from developers, track key metrics (e.g. DORA, SPACE) , and continuously improve the developer experience. Regular collaboration with infrastructure, security and application engineering teams will be key in driving measurable improvements in the entire developer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a high-performing team through hiring and coaching. Set a high bar for quality and ownership.
Act as a product manager for developer experience by gathering data through proactive outreach, developer surveys, and tracking key metrics (e..g. DORA, SPACE).
Integrate Agentic AI workflows across the software development lifecycle, orchestrating autonomous multi-agent systems to handle automated code reviews, intelligent test generation, and context gathering, moving beyond standard code-completion tools.
Design, build, and maintain a shared "golden path" of tools and services, including shared libraries (e.g., logging, SSO), base images (Python, Node, PHP), CI/CD templates, and application Helm charts, in partnership with the infrastructure team.
Build automation and internal tooling to solve developer pain points, reduce toil, and streamline the entire develop-build-test iteration loop.
Own and manage developer-centric tools and vendors, including our source code repositories, artifact registries, internal documentation platforms, and AI development platforms.
Build and maintain a central catalog of services, components, and standards to improve discoverability, governance, and onboarding.
Integrate and automate security tooling (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA) into the entire application lifecycle to create a secure software supply chain, in partnership with the Security team
Provide documentation, training, and support for our internal platform tools and services to drive adoption and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience:
What you will have
A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering, platform engineering or devops experience, including at least 2 years leading or managing engineering teams. With a proven track record of building and shipping high-quality software.
Delivery leadership and product partnership skills: ability to plan, execute, and communicate against measurable outcomes.
Demonstrated expertise in building AI agentic systems to drive complex, non-linear workflow automation.
Deep experience building and optimizing CI/CD workflows using tools such as Gitlab Pipelines, ArgoCD, Argo Workflows, or similar.
Strong programming and scripting skills for developing internal tooling, at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Go).
Experience with container technology (Docker) and deploying applications to Kubernetes using tools such as Helm and Kustomize
Experience with infrastructure & configuration as code tools such as Terraform
Familiarity with managing developer-centric tools like service catalogs, artifact registries, and developer documentation platforms (e.g. Backstage, Confluence).
