We're looking for a Vendor Management Lead to own our vendor relationships across the EMEA region and help shape how we use external capacity strategically. Beyond claims and customer support, our vendor portfolio includes specialised service providers who help fulfil our insurance products directly (for example, assistance and repair type services), so this role spans a genuinely varied set of relationships. You'll ensure every vendor performs to the standard our underwriters, distribution partners, and customers expect, while bringing a data driven, cost conscious lens to how and where we use external capacity versus building it in house.
This is a role for someone who enjoys both the relationship management side of vendor management and the strategic side: spotting improvement opportunities, contributing to build versus buy decisions, and staying on top of what's happening in the broader market so you can bring fresh ideas back into the business. You'll work closely with the Head of the Vendor Management Office, and partner cross functionally across the business, including Operations, Product, Insurance, Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Customer Experience, so strong relationship building and communication skills matter as much as vendor expertise.
Own vendor relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for our key vendors across EMEA, spanning claims and support as well as specialised service providers who help deliver our insurance products, building strong, productive working relationships.
Track performance: Maintain and run vendor scorecards covering service levels, quality, and cost, and use the data to drive improvement conversations.
Run audits and reviews: Lead periodic audits and business reviews of vendor performance, documenting findings and agreeing on action plans.
Ensure compliance: Make sure vendors operating under our regulatory obligations meet the standards required, and keep evidence of that compliance current and accessible.
Manage vendor risk: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the vendor portfolio, including operational, financial, compliance, and concentration risk, and escalate issues before they become problems.
Drive cost efficiency: Keep a close eye on the cost of external capacity, identify savings opportunities, and make sure commercial terms reflect what vendors are actually being asked to do.
Inform build vs buy decisions: Bring data and analysis to decisions about which services should sit in-house, with a specialist partner, or with flexible external capacity, and help make the case one way or the other.
Stay market aware: Keep an eye on the broader vendor and outsourcing landscape, track emerging players and innovation in the space, and bring ideas back into the business on where we could improve or do things differently.
Manage documentation: Keep contracts, SLAs, and risk assessments up to date for every vendor in the EMEA portfolio.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with Operations, Product, Insurance, Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Customer Integrations on vendor sourcing, RFPs, and any decision that touches the external capacity model.
5+ years' experience in vendor, partner, or third-party relationship management, ideally within insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
Experience managing outsourced service providers such as claims administrators, BPOs, or specialist service partners.
A genuinely data-driven approach: comfort pulling together performance, cost, and market data to identify trends and build a case for decisions.
A track record of holding vendors accountable through scorecards, SLAs, and structured performance reviews.
Experience with third-party or vendor risk management, including identifying, documenting, and mitigating operational, financial, and compliance risk.
Some exposure to build versus buy, make versus buy, or outsourcing strategy decisions, and an interest in the commercial and cost side of vendor management, not just relationship management.
Curiosity about the wider market: you like to know who else is doing this well, what's changing in the vendor landscape, and you bring that thinking back into your own recommendations.
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.
Based in or able to work from London, with willingness to travel occasionally for in-person vendor engagement across EMEA.
Exposure to delegated authority, MGA, or coverholder/TPA governance frameworks.
Experience with specialised service or fulfilment partners (e.g., assistance, repair, or logistics-type providers), not just claims/BPO vendors.
Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., Cert CII, ACII) or willingness to work towards them.
Experience in a fast-growing insurtech, fintech, or other high-growth technology environment.
