Our people are: Accountable, customer-obsessed, collaborative, driven

Our people are not: Passive, defensive, siloed, hesitant

As a Software Engineer 3 in the Financial Services and Merchants domain, you will design, build, and maintain solutions for our top-tier partners across multiple platforms. Each partner presents unique challenges: from architecting embedded iOS and Android experiences using OAuth2 flows, to leveraging transaction analysis to deliver deeply personalized user journeys. Solving these novel problems requires navigating a landscape defined by highly regulated environments and complex geographical legislation.

To thrive in this role, you'll bring extensive experience in distributed web development technologies. You’ll participate in technical design discussions, write high-quality code and documentation, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions. As we build AI-first, you’ll help integrate AI into our daily development practices and support a culture of engineering excellence. You'll work closely with product managers, QA engineers, and cross-functional engineering teams to ship reliable features, maintain platform stability, and strengthen our infrastructure and observability practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, maintain, and support distributed solutions for strategic partners, contributing across backend services, batch processing pipelines, partner-facing frontends, and infrastructure within your team's domain.

• Integrate AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini) into your daily workflow to accelerate coding, writing prompt strategies, and using agentic workflows to increase your development throughput.

• Participate in technical discovery for partner integrations—drafting architecture proposals, helping define integration approaches, and contributing code to platform services as needed.

• Maintain production reliability for partner integration surfaces by monitoring operational alerts, troubleshooting failures across platform services, resolving partner issues, and coordinating fixes with platform teams.

• Collaborate with product managers, internal stakeholders, and partner engineers to implement evolving technical requirements and communicate technical constraints clearly.

• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation—including integration references, runbooks, and onboarding guides—while contributing to code quality through code reviews and technical discussions.

Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years of experience in software development, with a track record of contributing to and maintaining production systems. Practical experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, or similar) in your daily development workflow.

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining high-quality web services using Python, with familiarity in additional languages such as TypeScript considered a plus.

• Experience building APIs and third-party integrations with distinct requirements. Solid understanding of batch processing, file-based data exchange (S3), and event-driven architectures.

• Good working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS), containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, relational databases (PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and data modeling.

• Ability to adapt to evolving requirements - you are comfortable working through product details with team members when specifications are not fully finalized.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to write concise technical documentation, explain design decisions, and discuss trade-offs with both technical and non-technical team members.

Proficiencies and Attributes:

• Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to break down user stories and technical tasks into well-structured solutions.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical details clearly to both teammates and cross-functional partners.

• A collaborative mindset and active participation within an Agile development environment.

• Self-motivated and reliable, with a clear sense of accountability for your assigned tasks and feature deliverables.

• Adaptable and open to learning, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adopting new tools and technologies as business needs evolve.

• Comfortable using AI tools as part of your standard daily development workflow to write code, test, and improve productivity.
