About DeepScribe

DeepScribe is building the future of healthcare technology. Our vision goes beyond automating medical notes - we are building AI agents for providers, streamlining diverse clinical workflows such as clinical trial matching, billing, and more. By embedding AI deeply into healthcare operations, we empower clinicians to deliver exceptional care.

We’ve raised over $60 million in total funding from top-tier investors, including Index Ventures and prominent angels such as Alexandr Wang (CEO of Scale AI) and Dylan Field (CEO of Figma). Our solutions are trusted by some of the largest healthcare organizations in the country, including The US Oncology Network (the nation’s largest oncology network) and Ochsner Health (the largest healthcare system on the Gulf Coast).

About the role

We’re looking for an exceptional software engineer to work on one of the most essential and complex parts of DeepScribe - EHR integrations. At DeepScribe, it’s critical that our product integrates seamlessly into the provider workflow, and this means integrating into the software that doctors use every day - the EHR.

You’ll work across our EHR integrations, which span major EHR platforms including Epic, Flatiron, Ontada/iKnowMed, serving thousands of providers. These integrations handle the full lifecycle of clinical documentation, from retrieving patient context to writing SOAP notes back into the medical record.

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of our EHR integrations platform, delivering core features that will shape the future of our product

  • Build new integrations with new EHRs and add new capabilities to existing EHR integrations, working with standards like HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, and proprietary APIs

  • Push the boundaries of what's possible with current healthcare interoperability tech - including browser automation, RPA, and AI agents for systems without modern APIs

  • Collaborate with external EHR vendors and clinical IT teams to troubleshoot integration issues and ensure seamless deployment

  • Build monitoring and alerting systems to ensure integration reliability for mission-critical clinical workflows

About you

  • You have experience integrating with EHR systems such as Epic (Interconnect, FHIR APIs), Cerner, or other major platforms

  • You understand healthcare data standards including HL7 (v2, v3), FHIR, and CDA documents

  • You have experience working with sensitive health data and familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements

  • You have experience with browser automation frameworks such as Selenium and/or Playwright for systems requiring RPA-based integration

  • You enjoy solving problems and writing code using languages like Python and Typescript

  • You move really, really fast while keeping the quality bar high

  • You're comfortable with on-call rotations and supporting production systems that healthcare providers depend on daily

  • You are curious and are excited by the challenge of applying LLMs to novel problems in healthcare

  • You care deeply about your teammates and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented culture

Nice to have

  • Experience managing and deploying code in AWS architecture

  • Experience working with LLM-powered applications and AI agents

  • Background in healthcare IT or prior work at health tech companies

This is a remote position, although Bay Area residents are encouraged to work from our SF office.
