In this role, you will craft detailed drawings and CAD models for payloads and satellite subsystems, with every line you draw contributing to hardware that launches into space.

Has a strong foundation in CAD drafting, with the ability to understand and convert mechanical layouts and assemblies provided by engineers into fully detailed drawings.
Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models from design inputs, sketches, and specifications provided by design engineers.
Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision and manufacturability of components.
Create assembly drawings, part lists, exploded views, and bill of materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and assembly.
Maintain and control documentation, including revision control of drawings, manufacturing instructions, quality records and CAD book-keeping.
Ensure compliance with industry drawing standards and company drafting practices.
Perform basic tolerance stack-ups and dimension checks to validate drawing correctness before release.
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Draftsmanship, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
2–4 years of experience in mechanical drafting for precision machinery, instruments, or scientific equipment.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks preferred; familiarity with NX, or similar is valuable).
Good understanding of GD&T practices and engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent).
Ability to review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before release.
Experience preparing fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and assembly documentation.
Exposure to materials, surface finishes, and machining/fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with document and revision control systems.
Experience working on scientific instruments or special purpose machinery.
Good communication skills to work with engineers, vendors, and shop floor teams.
Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and clarity in engineering documentation.
Basic knowledge of mechanical design concepts, tolerancing, and fits & limits.
Ability to work in a mission-focused, operational environment.
Ability to think critically and make independent decisions.
Interpersonal skills to enable working in a diverse and dynamic team.
