Digantara is a leading Space Surveillance and Intelligence company focused on ensuring
orbital safety and sustainability. With expertise in space-based detection, tracking,
identification, and monitoring, Digantara provides comprehensive domain awareness across
regimes, allowing end users to have actionable intelligence on a single platform. At the core
of its infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities
aligned with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection),
comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach empowers
Digantara to monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive
domain awareness.
We are seeking an Integrated Mission Operations Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team
at the intersection of Systems Engineering and Mission Operations. You will not just operate
the mission; you will help define how it is operated. You will be at the helm of our Mission
Control Centre leading a team of operators to handle our Space-based and Ground-based
assets to deliver time critical SSA data.
Planning, scheduling, execution and reporting of real-time operations right from LEOP
to all the way until decommissioning of spacecrafts.
Oversee the operation of ground-based optical observatories. Manage observation
schedules based on weather constraints, visibility windows, and maintenance cycles.
Develop and implement methods and software scripts for operational automation, to
reduce day-to-day operator responsibilities.
Preparation of payload operations support (CONOPS, Payload operating procedures,
calibration procedures, commissioning procedures, etc.)
Drive the development of Operational Software ensuring all operational requirements
are met and robustness is ensured.
Design and execute strategies for testing mission software, ensuring the MCS is robust
enough for critical operations
Interface with remote observatory teams, ground station networks, spacecraft
manufacturers and payload development teams to ensure smooth coordination of
mission activities.
Onboard new ground-based sensors putting them through a strict testing and
qualification process before declaring them operational.
Lead the build and maintenance of operational documentation (Daily Operational Logs,
Flight Operational Handbook, Mission Operations Plan, Commissioning andDecommissioning Plans, New Sensor Onboarding ConOps etc.)
Bachelors or Masters degree in science and engineering related programs.
3-6 years of experience in space mission operations and/or satellite systems engineering
Deep understanding of satellite subsystems (ADCS, EPS, CDH) and orbital mechanics
(orbit determination, TLEs, propagators).
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles. You must be knowledgeable
enough to speak the same language as software developers and architect a robust
MCS for ground and space infrastructure.
The ability to read/write Python scripts for quick data analysis or prototyping tools is
highly valued.
Knowledge of ground station operations, RF communication systems and protocols.
Understanding of network and telecommunications engineering.
Experience managing both remote hardware (ground sites) and orbiting assets.
Ability to take direction and work independently.
Ability to work in a mission-focused, operational environment round the clock as
