The Software Development Engineer I – Backend will develop and maintain backend services that power Digantara's software platform, building reliable APIs and scalable systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services supporting web-based applications.

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Python or Node.js.

• Design and optimize SQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling using PostgreSQL.

• Collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver seamless end-to-end product functionality.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following software engineering best practices.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards.

• Troubleshoot production issues and improve service performance, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications

• B.E., B.Tech., or M.Tech. in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• 0–2 years of experience in backend software development.

• Experience developing backend applications using Python or Node.js.

• Strong understanding of REST API design and service integration.

• Working knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.

• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support cross-functional collaboration and end-to-end debugging.

• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development workflows.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualities

• Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT, OAuth, or session-based authentication.

• Exposure to logging, monitoring, and production debugging practices.

• Experience with Docker and cloud deployment fundamentals.

• Understanding of modern backend architecture and software design principles.
