The Data Platform Engineer will contribute to the development and operation of Digantara's data platform, supporting scalable ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery of mission-critical space data. Working alongside senior engineers, this role will help build reliable data pipelines and backend services that power the Space Mission Assurance Platform.
1+ years of experience building or supporting data platforms, backend systems, or data engineering workflows.
Strong foundation in Python, PostgreSQL, and Apache Airflow, with an interest in building scalable and reliable data systems.
Passion for solving complex engineering problems while working in a collaborative, fast-paced product environment.
Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, and enrichment of operational datasets.
Build and support Apache Airflow workflows integrating satellite tracking, sensor, and external data sources.
Assist in designing and optimizing PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and database performance.
Develop backend services and APIs for dataset access and delivery.
Support containerized deployments using Docker and contribute to CI/CD workflows.
Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve operational reliability.
Contribute to testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of data platform capabilities.
Collaborate with software, platform, and domain teams to integrate data services into production systems.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
1+ years of experience in backend development, data engineering, or data platform development.
Strong proficiency in Python.
Working knowledge of Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
Familiarity with REST APIs and backend service development.
Exposure to Docker and modern version control practices using Git.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, S3, ECS, or EC2.
Exposure to Go (Golang).
Familiarity with DuckDB or analytical database technologies.
Experience working with scientific, engineering, or large-scale analytical datasets.
Understanding of CI/CD practices and cloud-native development workflows.

Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
