Digantara is a leading Space Surveillance and Intelligence company focused on ensuring orbital safety and sustainability. With expertise in space-based detection, tracking, identification, and monitoring, Digantara provides comprehensive domain awareness across regimes, allowing end users to have actionable intelligence on a single platform. At the core of its infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligned with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach empowers Digantara to monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain awareness.
Join our team as a Thermal Engineer, where your creativity and technical precision will help shape the future of satellite missions. In this role, you will contribute to the thermal design, analysis, and validation of spacecraft systems, ensuring that satellite platforms and payloads operate reliably in the extreme conditions of space. You will work on designing thermal control systems, developing thermal models, performing simulations, and supporting thermal testing, contributing to hardware that ultimately launches into space.
• Competitive incentives, galvanizing workspace, blazing team, frequent outings—pretty much everything you have heard about a startup + you get to work on space technology.
• Hustle in a well-funded startup allowing you to take charge of your responsibilities and create your moonshot.
Has a strong foundation in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and thermal engineering principles to analyze and solve thermal challenges.
We are seeking a motivated Thermal Engineering Intern to join our Thermal Design Team. The intern will support the thermal design, analysis, and verification of satellite platforms and payloads by developing thermal mathematical models, performing thermal simulations, and assisting with thermal testing and validation activities.
• Support the thermal analysis and design of satellite platforms, payloads, and spacecraft subsystems.
• Develop and maintain Thermal Mathematical Models (TMMs) for steady-state and transient thermal analyses.
• Perform thermal simulations using Siemens Simcenter 3D, Space Systems Thermal Solver (SST).
• Assist in the design and evaluation of spacecraft thermal control systems, including MLI, radiators, heaters, thermal coatings, and thermal interfaces.
• Support thermal balance and thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing, data analysis, and model correlation.
• Prepare technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline post-processing and analysis of thermal simulation results.
• Qualifications
• Currently pursuing or recent graduates in bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Thermal, Space Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fundamental knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Exposure to spacecraft thermal engineering concepts and thermal analysis tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with Simcenter 3D (Space Systems Thermal), MATLAB Simulink or similar thermal simulation software is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with any CAD software.
High-performing candidates will be considered for a full-time role based on performance and business requirements.
