Junior Hardware Test Engineer

Digantara is a leading Space Surveillance and Intelligence company focused on ensuring

orbital safety and sustainability. With expertise in space-based detection, tracking,

identification, and monitoring, Digantara provides comprehensive domain awareness across

regimes, allowing end users to have actionable intelligence on a single platform. At the core of

its infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligned

with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension

(data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach empowers Digantara to

monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain

awareness.

Digantara is seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Hardware Test Engineer to own board bring-

up, hardware qualification and production test execution for satellite payload electronics. The

candidate is also responsible to develop Python-based test automation and maintaining

lab/GSE readiness to improve test coverage, robustness, and production workflows.

Ideal Candidate:

Someone with 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in end-to-end hardware testing and

automation for Satellite payload/bus/launch vehicle avionics or high-reliability embedded

systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carryout acceptance and qualification testing campaigns for satellite payload

    electronics and generate test reports, qualification documents, and non-conformance

    reports.

  • Develop and maintain Python-based automated test sequences and data-logging

    pipelines for board bring-up, functional, regression, and environmental tests.

  • Collaborate with systems, hardware and firmware design teams to define integrated

    test sequences, checklists, automation, and lab workflows and capture lessons learned,

    and drive continuous improvements to procedures.

  • Maintain electronics lab and Ground Support Equipment infrastructure (equipment

    configuration, calibration schedules, cabling, ESD-safe workstations) to ensure

    continuous readiness for qualification and production.

  • Perform basic PCB assembly, soldering, rework, and test fixture builds to support

    prototyping and board-level repairs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Electronics /Electrical/Instrumentation, or a relavent

technical discipline.

  • 1 to 3 years(maximum) of hands-on experience in electronics hardware testing,

    validation, or production in satellite/launch vehicle avionics, or other high-reliability

    domains preferred.

  • Proficiency in using lab equipment i.e., oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic

    loads, and digital multimeters for board bring-up, debug and functional testing.

  • Understanding of data communication protocols SPI, I2C, UART, RS422/485,

    LVDS, Camera link and Gigabit Ethernet.

  • Experience in executing structured test plans and documenting results with strong

    traceability and attention to detail to identify the anomalies.

  • Working proficiency in Python for test automation and data handling.

  • Hands-on soldering and rework skills including through-hole and surface-mount

    components for prototyping, repair, and test fixture assembly.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in end-to-end life cycle of Satellite payload/bus subsystem testing campaign

    is a significant plus.

  • Certification in IPC-A-610/IPC J-STD-001/IPC-7711/7721 is an advantage.

  • Experience with thermal vaccum/thermal cycling and environmental tests on the

    hardware.

  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic configuration management for test

    scripts and setups.

  • Familiarity with the cleanroom protocols and handling optical payload is an added

    advantage.
