Executive Fashion Editor (9 Month Maternity cover)

Job type: Full Time · Department: Fashion Selection · Work type: Hybrid

London, England, United Kingdom

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for a strategic, culturally fluent fashion leader to step into one of the most exciting roles in digital fashion. As Acting Executive Fashion Editor at Drest,  the immersive styling platform and mobile game redefining how people engage with luxury.  You will be the creative and commercial force behind our fashion direction.

Reporting directly to the Head of Editorial, you will own the end-to-end fashion experience: from trend ideation and brand curation to data-led merchandising and cross-functional collaboration.

If you live and breathe fashion, thrive at the intersection of editorial vision and commercial impact, and want to shape what a generation of fashion lovers see, wear, and play -  this is your role.

What you will be accountable for:

  • Fashion Curation & Merchandising: The in-game wardrobe is consistently reflective of the most current and exciting luxury and contemporary trends — with piece selection, seasonal trend ideation, and editorial scheduling that balance creative credibility with commercial performance and user delight.

  • New Brand Development: A growing, diverse pipeline of both established designers and emerging talent — successfully pitched, onboarded, and live within the Drest catalogue.

  • Fashion Monetisation Strategy: Data-informed decisions that measurably improve the commercial performance of the catalogue, newsfeed, and brand list — with visible evidence of iteration and optimisation over time.

  • Creative Collaboration: All internal and external creative assets accurately and beautifully represent Drest brands and fashion items — delivered on time and to the highest standard.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Editorial, Picture, Marketing, Creative, Press, and Product teams are consistently aligned, the Junior Fashion Editor is well-managed and developed, and the Fashion team runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • External Representation: Drest is credibly and enthusiastically represented at press days, industry events, and Fashion Week — strengthening existing relationships and seeding new ones.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Fashion Curation & Merchandising

    • Select pieces from brand partners for the in-game wardrobe, balancing editorial instinct with commercial opportunity.

    • Identify seasonal trends and translate them into timely, actionable in-game content.

    • Oversee the editorial calendar — scheduling launches, brand drops, and collaborations that delight users.

  • New Brand Development

    • Identify and pitch emerging and established brands to strengthen the Drest catalogue.

    • Manage onboarding from first conversation through to launch.

  • Fashion Monetisation Strategy

    • Own the fashion monetisation strategy across the catalogue, newsfeed, and brand list.

    • Use data to evaluate decisions and continuously improve commercial performance.

  • Creative Collaboration

    • Oversee the visual representation of Drest brands across all internal and external assets.

    • Provide clear creative direction to ensure output is on-brand and high quality.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Keep Editorial, Picture, Marketing, Creative, Press, and Product teams aligned across all activity.

    • Manage and develop the Junior Fashion Editor, setting clear priorities for the Fashion team.

  • External Representation

    • Represent Drest at press days, industry events, and Fashion Week.

    • Use every touchpoint to deepen brand relationships and identify new opportunities.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You Have:

  • Extensive Editorial and Digital Media Experience: 5+ years’ experience and a proven history of working with publications and online platforms, with the ability to combine editorial insight with commercial imperatives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extensive Fashion Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the luxury fashion industry, with strong familiarity across a wide range of luxury and contemporary brands and experience coordinating with PR agencies.

  • Merchandising and Styling Capabilities: A discerning eye and a knack for outfit coordination.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: A track record of working seamlessly with editorial, marketing, creative, and tech teams to launch successful campaigns and features.

  • Data-Driven Mindset: Comfortable using data and analytics to guide decisions, measure results, and iterate on fashion strategies.

  • Commercial Acumen: A history of driving revenue growth through strategic product selections, brand collaborations, or merchandising initiatives.

  • Industry Network: Strong relationships with established and emerging fashion brands and PRs, enabling a steady pipeline of collaboration opportunities.

  • Leadership & Communication: The ability to articulate vision, influence stakeholders, and inspire teams across the organisation.

Who this role is not for;

  • Candidates seeking a writing or journalistic role

  • Individuals who are not digitally fluent or enthusiastic about digital media and platforms

  • Applicants with fewer than five years’ experience working with publications, media brands, or online platforms

  • Those without substantial experience in luxury fashion, an established network within the industry, and a strong knowledge of luxury fashion brands
