Who we are

Founded in Scottsdale, Arizona, equipifi is a fast growing, early-stage SaaS fintech building the credit infrastructure for modern banking. Our team is built on experience, talent, and - most importantly, attitude. We thrive in a fast-paced environment and value infinite curiosity, a people-first mindset, and a shared commitment to learning, growth, and pride in the work we do. At equipifi, we practice radical transparency, encouraging team members to move quickly, share ideas openly, and collaborate with peers who will respectfully challenge one another as we learn, build, and grow together. Success in this role comes from the ability to adapt fast, question the status quo, explore new ideas, and ask thoughtful (sometimes uncomfortable) questions - all while maintaining momentum in service of better customer outcomes. The work we do takes a village - and in an environment that moves fast, we embrace the adventure together.

Where you’ll make an impact

You'll own the operational layer that keeps our platform healthy and our engineers moving. That means monitoring and improving our AWS environment - costs, security groups, IAM hygiene, ECS auto-scaling, RDS utilization - and building the observability and on-call infrastructure that makes sure the right people get paged when something breaks. This isn't passive work. You'll be building things, improving things, and leaving systems better than you found them.

Our platform team is small and intentional - a Staff Platform Engineer and a Senior Platform Engineer doing serious infrastructure work. You'll work directly alongside Scott and Yury, owning operational problems from day one while learning from two of the strongest platform engineers in the land. The work you take on gives them the space to move faster on bigger platform initiatives, and the things you build become foundational to how equipifi scales.

Outcomes You’ll Own

The platform is always on and someone's always watching. You'll help build and maintain our on-call rotation, making sure monitoring is in place, alerts are firing at the right priority levels, and the right engineer gets paged when something breaks. Incidents get responded to fast, root causes get documented, and the same thing doesn't break twice.

AWS is clean, cost-efficient, and secure. You'll own the day-to-day hygiene of our AWS environment - monitoring costs, rightsizing resources, cleaning up unused IAM roles, defining permissions, dialing in ECS auto-scaling policies, and keeping RDS database utilization in check. Small things done consistently make a big difference at our scale.

IT operations run smoothly and keep getting better. You'll manage provisioning and support the internal tooling and dev environments our engineering team depends on. This isn't just about keeping the lights on - it's about finding the friction, reducing it, and building the automation that makes the whole team faster.

We're always audit-ready. You'll support our SOC 2 compliance efforts by helping gather evidence, taking screenshots, and keeping documentation current. You don't need to be a compliance expert - you just need to be organized and thorough.

What you bring to equipifi

  • You have 1-3 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, Linux administration, or a related field. You don't need a platform engineering title - the right background matters more than the right job name.

  • You're comfortable in AWS and you're always learning more. You know your way around the console, understand how core services fit together, and when something looks off you dig in rather than wait for someone else to notice.

  • Observability makes sense to you. Whether it's Datadog or something open-source, you know how to build monitoring that actually tells you something useful - and you know the difference between an alert that matters and one that just creates noise.

  • You've been on-call or you're ready to be. Incidents don't rattle you - they're problems to solve, document, and make sure don't happen again.

  • Security is part of how you build, not an afterthought. IAM policies, security groups, least-privilege access - you think about this stuff naturally.

  • When you see something manual, your instinct is to automate it. You're not just here to keep the wheels turning - you're here to make the wheels turn better.

  • You get things done. When someone hands you a task, they get back a result. You're organized, reliable, and the kind of person who closes loops without being asked.

  • You're hungry to grow. This role is a on-ramp into platform engineering, and you're excited about what that path looks like working alongside two of the strongest engineers in the building.

Your future team

You'll report to Eli Taylor, our CTO - a visionary builder who will ideate and whiteboard with you until your brain hurts (in the best way). Day to day, you'll work directly with Scott, our Staff Platform Engineer and your technical lead - the most dependable and calm person in the building no matter what's on fire. You'll also work closely with Yury, our wicked-smart Senior Platform Engineer, who brings serious AWS and platform depth to the team. This is a small, tight-knit group and you'll learn a lot fast.
