Who we are

Founded in Scottsdale, Arizona, equipifi is a fast growing, early-stage SaaS fintech building the credit infrastructure for modern banking. Our team is built on experience, talent, and - most importantly, attitude. We thrive in a fast-paced environment and value infinite curiosity, a people-first mindset, and a shared commitment to learning, growth, and pride in the work we do. At equipifi, we practice radical transparency, encouraging team members to move quickly, share ideas openly, and collaborate with peers who will respectfully challenge one another as we learn, build, and grow together. Success in this role comes from the ability to adapt fast, question the status quo, explore new ideas, and ask thoughtful (sometimes uncomfortable) questions - all while maintaining momentum in service of better customer outcomes. The work we do takes a village - and in an environment that moves fast, we embrace the adventure together.

Where you'll make an impact

equipifi is looking for a Head of Finance & Analytics to own the numbers that tell our story - to our board, our investors, and our own leadership team. You'll build the revenue and usage forecasts we run the business on, define and maintain our company KPIs as the single source of truth, and translate all of it into board reporting that drives decisions. Reporting directly to our CFO, you'll sit at the intersection of finance and analytics, with a direct line to company leadership.

You're rigorous enough to build a forecast you'd defend to investors, creative enough to know what story the data should tell, and AI-native enough to wire the tools together so insight can move at the speed of the business.

Outcomes You'll Own

Own the numbers that tell our story. You'll own the reporting and analysis that leadership, the board, and the broader team rely on to understand how we're doing - building the dashboards, running the analyses, and owning the narrative behind the numbers. Whether it's a board meeting, a leadership decision, or a team trying to understand its own metrics, they're working from your reporting. Ours is a business with a lot of complex numbers; you'll make them make sense for everyone.

Build the forecast that runs the business. This means owning the usage and revenue model from the ground up: building the assumptions, tracking actuals, and updating the view as the business evolves. As a partner to our functional stakeholders, you'll turn raw transaction and usage data into a forward-looking plan the leadership team uses for hiring decisions, product bets, and investor conversations.

Define how we measure the business. You'll refine our BI foundation to scale, establish the company KPI framework, and create the repeatable reporting that keeps every team aligned. Success here is felt by everyone - with consistency in our numbers, nomenclature, speed, and documentation.

What you bring to equipifi

  • 5–7 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or finance & analytics at a B2B SaaS or fintech company - ideally one with a usage or transaction-based revenue model

  • Experience as an early or first finance hire who's built reporting and forecasting infrastructure from scratch

  • Track record of owning board and investor reporting - writing the narrative, not just pulling the numbers

  • Deep financial modeling chops: you've built a usage or revenue forecast you'd defend to an investor without blinking

  • You know SQL like the back of your hand and feel confident with Metabase or similar BI tools. Bonus points if you've worked with any of ours: Metabase, MySQL, Airbyte, Snowflake, or Ordway (Excel fluency goes without saying)

  • You carry yourself like someone who's done this before (because you have)

  • AI-native mindset: you're already using AI tools to automate the busywork and move faster - not waiting to be told how

  • You're a natural leader - whether it's a leader who needs guidance, an analyst who wants to learn, or you grow a team - you feel comfy coaching and you're approachable to all

  • Strong communicator who can translate financial complexity into a story leadership acts on

  • Comfortable with ambiguity; you know how to make a decision with 70% of the information and refine as you go

Your future team

This role reports to our wicked-smart, dry-humored CFO, Drew Romney. As implied ad nauseam throughout, you'll partner closely with all of our functional leaders and executives.

Almost ready to apply?

We know that great candidates don't always check every box on paper. If this role gets you excited and you feel you'd bring insight, creativity, and passion to what we are building, we strongly encourage you to apply.
