About GreyLabs AI
GreyLabs AI is building the voice operating system for India's BFSI. Our Agentic Voice AI platform helps banks, insurers, NBFCs, and fintechs automate and humanize millions of customer conversations - across sales, collections, customer service, and compliance - in multiple Indian languages.
In under two years, we've scaled to 50+ enterprise clients including RBL Bank, AU Small Finance Bank, IDFC FIRST Bank, SBI Life, ICICI Prudential Life, Motilal Oswal, and Groww - processing hundreds of millions of conversations. We raised ₹85 Crores in Series A funding led by Elevation Capital with Z47, and were recognized for "Best Use of AI in Fintech" at IFTA 2025..
The Role
We're looking for a SDE-2 (Full Stack) to join our engineering team and build across our product surface - which spans Voice AI Agents (our flagship autonomous voice platform) and Speech Analytics (real-time conversation intelligence for CXOs).
At our stage, engineers work across product lines based on where the highest impact is. One quarter you might be building the real-time dashboards that surface compliance insights to banking ops leaders; the next, you could be crafting the APIs that orchestrate multilingual voice agent conversations at scale. You'll work end-to-end - from database schema to UI - and your code will be in production for some of the largest financial institutions in India.
This is a role with real ownership, meaningful scope, and the kind of variety that keeps engineering genuinely interesting.
What You'll Do
Build and ship full-stack features end-to-end - from designing backend APIs to crafting the frontend interfaces that enterprise clients use daily
Architect and implement backend systems that are reliable, scalable, and performant - we process hundreds of millions of conversations for regulated financial institutions, and that bar keeps us sharp
Own technical decisions - from choosing the right data model to making latency-vs-cost trade-offs in how we serve real-time analytics
Build for India's BFSI complexity: multilingual support, compliance requirements, and enterprise-grade reliability expectations
Work closely with product, design, and client-facing teams - at our size, engineers are part of the conversation from the start, not just at the implementation stage
Strengthen our engineering foundations - CI/CD, testing, monitoring, developer tooling - because we believe speed and quality go hand in hand
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
3–5 years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of owning and shipping products
Strong proficiency in Python/Django for building production backend systems
Solid experience with React.js and modern frontend development — you enjoy building UIs that are functional, responsive, and well-crafted
Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, or equivalents) — you've deployed and operated production workloads on cloud infrastructure
Strong fundamentals in relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), data modeling, and query optimization
Proficiency with Git-based workflows and code review practices
Strong CS fundamentals — comfortable reasoning about data structures, concurrency, system design, and algorithmic trade-offs
An appetite for learning and figuring things out — at a growing startup in an emerging category, the problems are often new and the playbook is still being written
Strong Signals (not checkboxes):
Experience building systems that integrate with ML models, handle non-deterministic outputs, or process audio/speech data
Familiarity with real-time data processing, streaming architectures, or WebSocket-based systems
Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines in production
Prior startup experience - or a demonstrated ability to thrive with autonomy and move quickly
Exposure to the BFSI domain is a plus, but we're happy to bring you up to speed
