About Health Note

Health Note builds AI-powered automation for how care begins, starting with the phone call. Our platform handles patient scheduling and clinical intake through voice-first workflows that reduce administrative work and replace traditional call center models for mid-sized healthcare practices.

Our fastest-growing product is AI voice scheduling. It answers calls, routes patients, and books appointments automatically. Clinics adopt it because staffing is expensive, call volumes are high, and traditional approaches like call centers and online scheduling fail under real-world complexity.

Health Note operates in regulated healthcare environments and integrates directly with clinical systems. The platform supports high-volume patient interactions and handles sensitive clinical data, where reliability, security, and performance are required.

About the role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will own and evolve the infrastructure that Health Note runs on. You will design, automate, and operate the cloud platform that supports our production systems.

Your focus will be on scalability, availability, security, and cost efficiency as usage grows. You will reduce operational risk, eliminate manual workflows, and improve how engineers deploy, observe, and operate services.

This is a senior individual contributor role with architectural responsibility. You will identify weak points in the platform, define improvements, and drive them through implementation in close partnership with product engineering teams.

What you will do:

  • Lead automation efforts to ensure our systems scale seamlessly, efficiently, and cost-effectively; minimizing manual workflows across deployment, provisioning, monitoring, and incident response.

  • Define and improve platform architecture, identifying opportunities to reduce complexity, increase developer velocity, and enhance observability.

  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure infrastructure is intuitive, reliable, well-documented, and aligned with best practices for security and compliance (HIPAA, SOC2, etc.).

  • Proactively monitor system health, performance, and costs; implement tooling and processes to reduce incidents and improve MTTR.

  • Mentor engineers and contribute to building strong engineering standards, patterns, and practices.

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience building, operating, and scaling cloud infrastructure for production systems using AWS (or equivalent cloud providers).

  • Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS).

  • Expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools (Pulumi, Terraform) and cloud automation patterns.

  • Deep experience designing and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.

  • Proficiency with networking, system design principles, and distributed systems fundamentals.

  • Experience with observability practices and performance tuning in large-scale environments.

  • Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to implementation.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with modern observability platforms (Datadog, Betterstack, Sumo Logic, Sentry).

  • Experience working with healthcare, healthcare technology, and clinical staff, or other regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with AWS Fargate or other container runtime environments.

  • Background designing cost-optimization strategies in cloud environments.

What we’re running today

  • AWS-based infrastructure

  • Containers using ECS and EKS

  • Infrastructure as code with Pulumi

  • GitHub and ArgoCD for delivery workflows

  • PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis

You don’t need to know everything on this list. You do need to be able to learn quickly and make good tradeoffs.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive salary and benefits aligned to global location and experience

  • Flexible PTO and company holidays

  • Company provided equipment
