The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate registered dietitian to join our obesity medicine company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert nutritional guidance and support to patients seeking weight loss (or to manage diabetes and cardiovascular conditions), including those who may be utilizing medications or undergoing bariatric surgery. The candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of peer coaches, MDs, and therapists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans and empower patients to achieve their weight loss goals in a safe and sustainable manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough nutritional assessments and develop personalized dietary plans for patients based on their individual needs, medical history, and weight loss goals
Collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated and cohesive approach to patient care
Educate patients about the importance of nutrition and its impact on weight management, overall health, and the prevention of obesity-related comorbidities
Monitor patients' progress and make appropriate adjustments to their dietary plans as needed
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in nutrition and weight management
Provide guidance on portion control, meal planning, food choices, and preparation methods to promote healthy eating habits
Develop educational materials, workshops, and group sessions to support patient education and empowerment
Document patient interactions, progress, and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner
Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in patient care
Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian credentials
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist a plus.
Obesity and Weight Management Certification a plus.
Proven experience working with patients in weight management, preferably in a medical or obesity medicine setting
Familiarity with the use of medications and bariatric surgery in weight loss treatment
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to comprehensive patient care
Proficient in conducting nutritional assessments and developing personalized dietary plans
Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on emerging trends in nutrition and weight management
