St. Louis, Missouri, United States
At Intramotev, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the freight industry by liberating tons of freight from congested highways, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing transportation efficiency. We are deploying self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles to transform freight logistics and bring innovation to our rail network.
Based in St. Louis, MO, we are committed to promoting industrial revitalization, saving lives, and minimizing the environmental impact of trucking and transportation. We actively foster a work environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunities for professional growth. Find your future with us.
We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the production team building our self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles in St. Louis. Our factory runs low-volume, high-mix work: new vehicles, retrofits, and modifications, both mechanical and electrical. This role owns how that factory runs day to day. That means the plant layout and material flow, build efficiency, the timing of builds across stations, the handoff into quality and test, and the shop-floor task priorities that keep the build moving.
Odoo is central to this job. The production schedule, manufacturing orders, work orders, work-center capacity, and the handoff to our supply chain team all run through Odoo. The successful candidate keeps that schedule accurate and uses it to coordinate the build. This is a salaried individual-contributor role that reports to operations leadership. You'll set daily task priorities with technicians and production leads, with no formal people-management responsibility. We'll level a stronger candidate by experience.
This is a full-time, 100% in-office role based in St. Louis, MO. You'll work within a team of 3–10 engineers and technicians.
Plant Layout & Material Flow: Plan and improve the layout of stations, equipment, storage, and material flow as the build grows across new vehicles, retrofits, and modifications.
Efficiency & Throughput: Measure the build through cycle times, labor, bottlenecks, and waste. Drive measurable improvements in throughput, cost, and safety.
Build Timing & Scheduling: Coordinate build timing across stations, teams, and incoming material. Keep the production schedule in Odoo accurate across manufacturing orders, work orders, and work-center capacity.
Supply Chain Coordination: Work with the supply chain team through Odoo so material arrives when the build needs it.
Quality & Test Integration: Plan inspections, test, and acceptance steps into the build flow so quality and test are part of the schedule, not an afterthought.
Daily Prioritization: Set and adjust day-to-day task priorities on the shop floor with technicians and production leads as conditions change.
Collaboration: Work daily with technicians, quality and test, and engineering to resolve build issues and feed production lessons back into the process.
Base salary: $80,000–$100,000, plus equity
Intramotev offers a comprehensive benefits package for all team members, including:
Medical coverage: We cover 100% of employee medical premiums, plus low-cost dental and vision options.
Vacation: Full-time employees enjoy unlimited paid time off.
Equity: Full-time employees receive equity in the company.
Parental leave: New parents receive paid time off to spend quality time with their family.
At least a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
3 or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience designing plant or cell layouts and material flow.
Time study, capacity, or throughput analysis that led to measurable improvements.
Production scheduling or build coordination in an ERP/MRP system.
Comfortable on the shop floor, setting priorities with technicians and production leads.
Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.
Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor.
Fluent in both written and verbal English.
U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).
Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:
Odoo MRP, Inventory, or Planning experience.
Lean manufacturing (value-stream mapping, 5S, standard work) or Six Sigma.
Layout tools such as AutoCAD, or factory-layout or simulation software.
Quality and test integration, including inspection planning and factory acceptance testing.
Experience in directly applicable industry or projects with low-volume, high-mix vehicle or heavy-equipment manufacturing, such as Rail, Electric Vehicles, Automotive, Aerospace, or Heavy Machinery.
OSHA and shop-floor safety practice.
Data analysis for production metrics (Excel, Power BI, Python, or similar).
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
This position offers a competitive relocation package for qualified candidates.
