Senior Software Engineer, Robotics Perception

At Lionsbot, you’ll be part of the Autonomy team in development of perception software stack to achieve best performance autonomy. You will be responsible for designing and implementing key modules for the robotics perception stack, ranging from sensor evaluation, sensor calibration, perception algorithms development and integration with navigation stacks.

Within the autonomy team, you’ll have independent deliverables and will be expected to take full ownership of executing them. Some of the key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement key CV and Deep Learning algorithms to enhance scene understanding and robot perception.

  • Develop and optimize 3D pointcloud-based feature detection, tracking, and segmentation pipelines

  • Develop robust sensor calibration pipelines

  • Train, tune, and deploy deep learning models for object detection and semantic segmentation

  • Calibrate and tune perception sensors (LiDAR, RGBD, stereo cameras) for robust performance in real-world conditions

  • Collaborate closely with teammates from navigation and SLAM teams to deliver high-quality autonomous software stacks that powers next generation cleaning robots.

  • Produce clean, efficient, and well-tested C++ and Python code

  • Contribute to technical documentation, testing infrastructure, and team knowledge sharing

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Robotics, or a related field (or PhD with relevant focus)

  • 3+ years of industry experience in robotics perception or applied computer vision

  • Proficient in data structures, algorithms and software design

  • Proficient in C++ and Python development on Linux

  • Hands-on experience with Deep Learning frameworks such as, PyTorch or TensorFlow

  • Familiarity with 2D/3D sensor processing and related libraries such as OpenCV, PCL, etc

  • Strong theoretical understanding of Deep Learning (DL) models related to Computer Vision (CV).

    • Knowledge of common image classification, object detection and tracking algorithms.

    • Familiarity with recent research trends in DL/CV.

  • Experience working with ROS1 / ROS2

  • Experience working with sensor modalities such as Stereo Cameras, RGBD cameras and 2D/3D Lidars.
