Senior Validation Engineer
Job type: Full Time · Department: Engineering (R&D) · Work type: On-Site
Singapore, Singapore
The Senior Validation Engineer is a hands-on technical expert who owns DVT execution, reliability and environmental testing, and field validation for LionsBot's autonomous cleaning robots. You will write test protocols, run challenging environmental and life tests, drive failure analysis to root cause, and feed field findings back into the design. This is an individual contributor role with high technical autonomy — you will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers and be the person who ensures the product is genuinely proven before it ships.
Key Responsibilities
Author and execute DVT test protocols for assigned products and subsystems — covering functional, safety, performance, and reliability requirements.
Design and execute reliability and environmental test programs: HALT, HASS, cyclic life, IP/ingress, thermal cycling, and vibration.
Drive structured failure analysis (8D / FTA / Fishbone / FMEA) for all critical failures — own root cause identification and re-test verification of fixes.
Define field validation plans: instrument builds, collect field data, and generate findings reports with traceable design or process recommendations.
Specify and validate test fixtures and jigs; maintain calibration and documentation so any engineer can execute tests independently.
Maintain full requirements traceability — every product/system requirement mapped to a test case before gate sign-off.
Attend and contribute to design reviews (CDR, PDR, PRR); flag validation risks early with data.
File all test reports, deviation records, and waivers in the DMS on time — zero documentation gaps at audit.
Partner with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to replicate and resolve integration failures before the next build.
What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
4-7 years of hands-on hardware validation experience — you have personally written protocols, run tests, and closed failures.
Proven experience with reliability and environmental testing: HALT, HASS, cyclic life, IP/ingress, thermal, or vibration.
Proficient in failure analysis methods: 8D, FTA, Fishbone, DFMEA/PFMEA — drives to root cause, not symptom.
Comfortable reading and interpreting standards (IEC 60335-2-72, CE, UL) and translating them into executable test plans.
Experience specifying or building test fixtures; understands basic measurement uncertainty and calibration requirements.
Strong documentation discipline — test reports, traceability matrices, and deviation records always complete and on time.
Experience in robotics, consumer electronics, home appliances, medical devices, or automation strongly preferred.
Hands-on by default — as comfortable on the bench as writing a report.
