As the Security Lead/Manager you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of our cloud infrastructure architecture, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and security. You will oversee the integration of security ops practices to ensure the efficient and secure delivery of cloud-native/blockchain/Web3 software. You will also ensure compliance, and foster a security-first mindset across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred), Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code alongside the leadership experience to shape and scale security posture for the entire organization.
This role is roughly a 30%-50% leading and 50-70% being hands-on in the day-to-day work.
Lead the development and execution of the Security strategy, aligning both development and security goals with the company’s overall objectives.
Drive collaboration between development, operations, and security teams to integrate SecOps practices seamlessly across the organization.
Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated security testing, vulnerability scans, and compliance checks are embedded throughout.
Guide the adoption and optimization of infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes) to ensure secure and scalable environments.
Establish and enforce security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, embedding security into every step of the DevOps workflow.
Oversee security and performance monitoring systems, ensuring rapid incident response and continuous analysis of system performance, uptime, and security posture.
Manage the company’s risk posture, ensuring that software and infrastructure meet regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2), and lead efforts in incident response and recovery.
Supervise cloud infrastructure management, ensuring security measures are integrated into the design, deployment, and scaling of cloud environments.
Drive the integration of automated security solutions (e.g., code analysis, vulnerability detection, compliance tools) into the development pipeline.
Drive strict governance over access to systems and data by adopting best practices for identity and access management (IAM).
Champion a security-first culture for the company by promoting awareness and training across the organization.
Drive cross-departmental security initiatives by partnering and collaborating with different leaders across the organization.
Set clear performance and security metrics, leveraging data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and better alignment of development speed with security
The ideal candidate brings:
Proven experience in Security Ops (5-7 years minimum) and in a security leadership/mentorship role (7+ years).
Deep hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, infrastructure-as-code tooling like Terraform (Terragrunt/Atlantis), and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure and the deployment of Web3 services, especially EVM-based chains.
Strong understanding of modern security protocols and enterprise security architecture.
Experience designing CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions) and artifact management (e.g., JFrog).
Excellent communicator with the ability to translate technical risks and requirements to business leaders, and a passion for fostering a security-first culture.
Extensive experience with security automation tools, vulnerability scanning, and integrating security into development processes.
Solid understanding of security principles, risk management, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams and budgets
Comfortable in high-growth, fast-moving environments where you balance deep technical execution with strategic oversight.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-moving environment.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field (Master's is a plus).
7-10 years of experience, with prior experience directly managing teams
Comfortable in high-growth, fast-moving environments where you balance deep technical execution with strategic oversight.
Experience with Rancher, Fleet, Docker, and scripting languages (Bash, Python).
Experience supporting enterprise customers in Web3, FinTech, or data-heavy industries.
Familiarity with employment compliance and data privacy regulations as it relates to infrastructure and security design.
Passion for decentralization, blockchain infrastructure, and real-time data systems.

Base Salary: $160,000 USD to $200,000 USD
