Senior Performance Marketing Manager

Work type: Full time · Department: Marketing · Workplace: On-Site · USD 140,000-170,000 / year

About Onshore

Onshore is the modern standard for U.S. companies claiming the R&D tax credit. We find, document, and defend the tax credits and deductions that farms, manufacturers, architects, and engineers have earned. Claiming the R&D tax credit has historically been an ordeal full of consultants, spreadsheets, and hidden fees. Now, our software and AI-powered solutions read every line of a client's records against the tax code, produce verified computations, and are reviewed by a credentialed tax professional before filing.

This position is based in New York City, and in-office attendance is required Monday-Friday.

Role overview:

The Senior Performance Marketing Manager will help scale Onshore's marketing engine for growth. You'll build and run integrated demand generation that puts Onshore in front of the builders who need us, earns their attention, brings in qualified leads, and turns marketing spend into pipeline and revenue we can measure.

This is a strategic role that stays hands-on. You'll decide which audiences and messages to test, tighten every step of the path to conversion, build the automation that keeps prospects moving, and use performance data to make each campaign return more than the last. You understand both the creative and technical sides of demand generation, and you can draw a straight line from marketing activity to qualified pipeline, client growth, and results the business can see. You'll work directly with the VP of Marketing and closely with sales, design, and content.

What you'll do:

  • Shape and run Onshore's demand generation plan, connecting paid media, email, webinars, content, and account-based campaigns into programs that build pipelines.

  • Manage paid campaigns across every channel we run, including pay-per-lead programs targeting, budget allocation, testing, and ongoing optimization.

  • Own the budget. Decide where spend goes, move it when the data says to, and explain why.

  • Build account-based campaigns for priority accounts with sales, aligned to their target lists.

  • Plan and build email and nurture programs that move prospects from first touch to a sales conversation.

  • Work with design and content on messaging, creative, landing pages, and offers that fit each audience from manufacturers to farmers to contractors.

  • Own our marketing automation platform: workflows, lead scoring, lifecycle stages, segmentation, and its connection to Salesforce.

  • Build lead-source tracking and attribution that shows how each campaign and channel contributes to pipeline, acquisition cost, and return on spend.

  • Keep marketing data trustworthy, with consistent campaign naming, clean records, and accurate tracking.

  • Build dashboards and recurring reports, and turn funnel and conversion data into clear recommendations for marketing, sales, and leadership.

  • Use AI tools to speed up campaign builds, sharpen targeting and personalization, and automate reporting — and bring the ones worth adopting to the team.

What we're looking for:

  • 7+ years in performance marketing, demand generation, or marketing analytics, ideally in B2B, fintech, or another considered purchase.

  • Hands-on ownership of a meaningful paid budget across multiple channels, including pay-per-lead, with results you can walk us through.

  • Experience building account-based campaigns with sales for a defined list of target accounts.

  • Experience building email and nurture programs, and an understanding of lifecycle marketing for both prospects and existing clients.

  • A strong grasp of lead-source tracking, attribution, and data hygiene. You know what clean marketing data looks like and how to keep it that way.

  • A clear point of view on spends. You can explain what you'd cut, what you'd scale, and how you'd know.

  • A track record of turning campaign data into changes that improve lead quality, conversion, and pipeline — not just clicks.

  • Strong project management. You can keep several campaigns, budgets, and deadlines moving at once without losing accuracy.

  • Clear communication. You can walk marketing, sales, and leadership through a plan or a result and what to do next.

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have:

  • Fluent in the major search, paid social, and programmatic ad platforms, with hands-on experience in retargeting and pay-per-lead programs.

  • Advanced in a marketing automation platform (HubSpot or similar), including workflows, lead scoring, lifecycle stages, and campaign reporting.

  • Comfortable in Salesforce, and in keeping CRM and lead data accurate.

  • Proficient in Google Analytics and Tag Manager, with experience building campaign dashboards and performance reports.

  • Experience with the latest AI go-to-market tools for creative testing, audience research, personalization, and workflow automation and the judgment to know when they help.

  • HubSpot or other marketing automation certification.

  • Experience marketing to small and mid-sized businesses, or to industries like manufacturing, agriculture, or construction.

  • Landing page and conversion rate optimization experience.

  • Familiarity with intent data for account-based targeting.

  • SQL or BI tools.
