Role Summary

Role: Product Test Specialist

Location: Fremont, CA based. Heavy travel for field testing.

Must be comfortable towing the RV trailer. Experience towing a big plus.

We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join our dynamic startup in disrupting mobility and living space. In this role you will be a field representative testing the product in the wild. You're responsible for evaluating and validating the functionality, safety, and performance of our product.

Working within System Integration & Product Testing, you will be dispatched to the field the majority of your time employed at Pebble; only returning to HQ for vehicle maintenance and to provide mission debriefs of field test results.  As a data scientist on the road you are responsible for clearly communicating weekly test objectives across a wide variety of scenarios. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans across the vehicle while considering product specifications, industry standards, and user experience

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data and propose improvements to the existing product to ensure a seamless and quality user experience

  • Investigate and determine the root causes of product failures or performance issues and issue corrective actions

  • Maintain detailed records of test procedures, results, and findings. Prepare test reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders

  • Work closely with engineering to provide daily feedback and insights, contributing to product improvements and innovations

  • Identify opportunities for process and product improvement, implement best practices, and suggest innovative testing methodologies to enhance product quality

  • Manage and prioritize multiple testing projects simultaneously to meet project timelines while delivering high quality results

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineer, automotive engineering, or related field.

  • 2+ Years of Experience in a similar role and/or proven experience as a test engineer in the automotive industry

  • Experience with Recreational Vehicles and deep understanding of customer pain points

  • Knowledge of testing standards and methodologies to ensure proper and detailed data collection

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines

  • Ability to hitch and tow vehicles (experience preferred).

  • Valid California Driver’s License

  • Comfortable working independently in remote environments for extended periods of time
