We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic startup in disrupting mobility and living space. With a strong track record of developing and shipping products in the consumer or automotive industries, the ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of automotive design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, utilizing their expertise to design, develop, and refine products that exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop innovative designs for vehicle exteriors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product managers to optimize design functionality and manufacturability.

  • Conduct simulations and testing to evaluate new designs and improve existing ones.

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing.

  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure the feasibility and quality of designs.

  • Document and present design proposals and technical reports to stakeholders.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in automotive exterior design.

  • Ensure designs are sustainable, cost-effective, and meet project budgets.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance in their professional development.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 3-8+ years of experience.

  • Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, specifically in automotive exteriors.

  • Proficient in CAD software, such as CATIA V5/V6, or similar tools.

  • Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes used in vehicle exteriors.

  • Experience with FEA and other simulation tools for validating designs.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • A passion for innovation and sustainability in design.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Proactiveness, logical thinking, team player.
