Systems Integration Engineer
Job type: Full Time · Department: Hardware Engineering · Work type: On-Site
Fremont, California, United States
At Pebble, we build technology that makes everyday life simpler, smarter, and more connected. We move fast, think long-term, and care deeply about craft. We’re looking for curious, driven engineers who want to do the best work of their careers alongside a team that holds the bar high.
As a Systems Integration Engineer, you’ll be at the intersection of hardware, software, and real-world validation. You’ll work across disciplines to bring complex systems together, ensuring they perform reliably from bench to production. This is a hands-on role where you’ll own integration challenges end-to-end, collaborate with a tight-knit engineering team, and build the kind of technical depth that comes from working on hard problems.
Integrate hardware and software subsystems, validating interfaces and ensuring end-to-end system functionality.
Design, execute, and document integration test plans covering SIL, HIL, and physical validation.
Analyze CAN bus and communication protocol data to diagnose and resolve integration issues.
Write clean, maintainable scripts in Python to automate test workflows and process data.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation: wiring schematics, integration guides, test reports, and calibration procedures.
Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to identify root causes and drive issues to resolution.
Support continuous improvement of integration processes, tooling, and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
0–2 years of professional or project experience in systems integration, controls engineering, or a related role.
Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, LV/HV electronics, or embedded control systems.
Proficiency in at least one of: Python, C, or C++
Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, or similar.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
Clear written and verbal communication — you can translate technical findings into plain language.
Experience with CAD tools (Catia, NX, or similar) for reviewing or creating component models.
Exposure to Agile or Scrum workflows.
Experience with Grafana or other data visualization tools.
We believe great engineering comes from people who are trusted with ownership and supported to grow. You’ll have direct access to senior engineers and meaningful problems from day one. We value clear thinking, honest communication, and people who raise the bar for everyone around them.
