About Phaidra

Phaidra is building the future of industrial automation.

The world today is filled with static, monolithic infrastructure. Factories, power plants, buildings, etc. operate the same they've operated for decades — because the controls programming is hard-coded. Thousands of lines of rules and heuristics that define how the machines interact with each other. The result of all this hard-coding is that facilities are frozen in time, unable to adapt to their environment while their performance slowly degrades.

Phaidra creates AI-powered control systems for the industrial sector, enabling industrial facilities to automatically learn and improve over time. Specifically:

  • We use reinforcement learning algorithms to provide this intelligence, converting raw sensor data into high-value actions and decisions.

  • We focus on industrial applications, which tend to be well-sensorized with measurable KPIs — perfect for reinforcement learning.

  • We enable domain experts (our users) to configure the AI control systems (i.e. agents) without writing code. They define what they want their AI agents to do, and we do it for them.

Our team has a track record of applying AI to some of the toughest problems. From achieving superhuman performance with DeepMind's AlphaGo, to reducing the energy required to cool Google's Data Centers by 40%, we deeply understand AI and how to apply it in production for massive impact.

Phaidra’s ability to achieve its mission is determined by our ability to work together — as defined by our core values: Agency, Velocity, Craft, and Truth. We seek individuals who embody these values, as they are instrumental in ensuring our team consistently delivers excellence and fosters an engaging and supportive culture

Phaidra is based in the USA, but we are 100% remote with no physical office. We hire employees internationally with the help of our partner, OysterHR. Our team is currently located throughout the USA, Canada, UK, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, and India.

Who You Are

You're a self-starter. You're comfortable with ambiguity and know startup life means wearing multiple hats. You're agile, accountable, curious, and obsessed with improvement, in yourself and others. You like a challenge. You learn from missteps and want to help build a world-class company from the ground up.

As a Technical Recruiter, you'll own the end-to-end pipeline for a set of roles and lead sourcing and screening across the full requisition load, including some of the hardest roles to fill. You'll work closely with Phaidra's People Operations Partner as a true partner in building out our recruiting function, not just executing tasks. You'll operate with moderate guidance and direction, but you're expected to execute independently once a role is scoped. This is a mid-level position for someone who already knows how to run a search and wants real ownership over their roles.

**We are seeking a team member located within one of the following areas: USA (Eastern timezone)

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for a defined set of roles, from intake through offer.

  • Source and screen candidates across all open roles, with a focus on hard-to-fill and technical positions.

  • Build and manage talent pipelines using proactive sourcing techniques (Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, outbound outreach, referrals).

  • Partner with hiring managers to scope role requirements and calibrate on what "qualified" looks like.

  • Review resumes and applications, screen against role requirements, and advance qualified candidates.

  • Conduct screening interviews, evaluate candidates on qualifications, skills, and values alignment, and give clear input to hiring managers.

  • Communicate with candidates throughout the process: scheduling, status updates, and answering questions.

  • Maintain accurate, current records in the ATS, including candidate status and hiring metrics.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience, with direct experience in technical recruiting and sourcing.

  • Proven sourcing skills: you can build a pipeline from scratch for a role with a thin candidate pool.

  • Comfortable operating with moderate direction. You take a scoped role and run with it.

  • Experience with an ATS and recruiting software such as LinkedIn Recruiter.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including strong active listening.

  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.

  • Able to work well asynchronously in a results-based environment.

  • Demonstrates Phaidra's values: Agency, Velocity, Craft, Truth.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience using Notion, Kula, Claude.

  • Experience with recruiting data and metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline conversion, source effectiveness).

  • Experience working in a startup.

  • Experience in a fully distributed, remote company.
