The Opportunity

As Head of Talent Acquisition, you will own the end-to-end hiring engine at Plum. This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear operational mandate: keep the recruitment machine running with discipline, speed, and quality. At the same time, you will bring a strategic lens — shaping how we attract and assess talent, building systems that scale with the business, and partnering with leadership on workforce planning.

You will manage a team of recruiters and coordinators, hold the bar on delivery, and continuously raise the standard of how Plum hires.

What you'll do

Own TA Operations — End to End

  • Run the day-to-day hiring engine: manage pipelines, enforce SLAs, and drive predictable turnaround times across all open roles.

  • Maintain ATS hygiene, reporting accuracy, and clean funnel data — the operational backbone that keeps hiring decisions well-informed.

  • Monitor funnel metrics in real time; identify and fix bottlenecks before they become delays.

  • Keep hiring processes simple, standardised, and efficient — reducing friction at every stage from screening to offer.

Lead & Develop the TA Team

  • Manage and coach a team of recruiters and coordinators; set clear expectations on output, quality, and timelines.

  • Run regular pipeline reviews and performance conversations that keep the team focused and accountable.

  • Roll up your sleeves on critical or delayed roles — this is a leader who stays close to the work.

  • Build team capability over time: invest in process knowledge, stakeholder skills, and hiring craft.

Partner Strategically with the Business

  • Work closely with hiring managers and business leaders to clarify priorities, translate headcount plans into hiring roadmaps, and align on what great looks like for each role.

  • Ensure interview processes, feedback loops, and offer decisions move quickly — reducing time-to-fill without sacrificing quality.

  • Bring a point of view to leadership on talent market trends, hiring risks, and workforce planning considerations.

  • Maintain clear, dependable communication between TA and the business — no surprises, no dropped balls.

Raise the Bar on Hiring Quality & Employer Brand

  • Standardise and continuously improve screening, coordination, and offer processes across the team.

  • Reduce offer declines and drop-offs through proactive candidate engagement and a respectful, well-structured experience.

  • Use data to identify where quality is slipping — and fix it systematically, not just case by case.

  • Champion Plum's employer brand at every candidate touchpoint; every interaction reflects who we are.

What we are looking for?

  • 8–10 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, with at least 2–3 years managing a recruiting team.

  • Proven track record of delivering hiring outcomes at scale in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Highly operational mindset — comfortable with metrics, pipelines, and the details of execution.

  • Strategic enough to partner credibly with senior leaders on workforce planning and talent priorities.

  • Hands-on leader who gets into the details when it matters, without losing sight of the bigger picture.

  • Clear, dependable communicator — with hiring managers, candidates, and the broader People team.

  • Experience in technology companies or start-ups is strongly preferred.
