We are seeking an exceptional Staff Software Engineer - Mobile to join our mission of advancing brain-computer interface technology. As the sole mobile developer on the team, you will own the design and development of a new mobile application at the heart of a groundbreaking neural control platform, combining fully customizable patient workflows, Bluetooth device control, and a bidirectional cloud data path. The right candidate will get the unique opportunity to lead large-scale efforts from rapid prototyping through deployment in a transformational space. This position reports into the Senior Director, Software Engineering.
This position will be based in our Manhattan, Santa Clara, Indianapolis, or Chicago office. We are unable to consider remote workers or people not currently based in the United States, and who have employment authorization.
Work with engineering leadership, product management and the software team to design and develop mobile app infrastructure to serve as Precision’s BCI patient control hub
Implement device interaction towards continuous, cloud-connected telemetry, control, and data streaming
Work with design and clinical teams to develop novel task-based neural model training framework
Perform rapid prototyping cycles to discover and evaluate new concepts and de-risk technical pathways
Serve as mobile technology subject matter expert for Precision Neuroscience
Operate within an IEC 62304-compliant Software Development Life Cycle, meeting necessary compliance and regulatory requirements
Provide necessary training and support for field and clinical teams (up to 10% travel)
Generate supporting documentation as needed
Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
5+ years' experience in mobile app development, both iOS and Android
Proven track record of full-lifecycle development through deployment to production
1+ years’ experience working with AI tooling in a commercial setting
Experience with connected device technology (ex. Bluetooth)
Preferred:
Experience working in a regulated space
Experience working with real-time or time-sensitive applications
