Senior QA Engineer

Job type: Full Time · Department: Engineering · Work type: Hybrid · EUR 38,000-45,000 / year

Zagreb, Grad Zagreb, Croatia

About Robin:

Robin is reimagining workplace operations as a strategic function, and AI is at the core of how we get there. We help workplace teams bring order to the chaos by automating logistics, simplifying operations, and giving employees a seamless way to connect with the office. Today, our workplace operations platform is used by thousands of offices around the world.

At Robin, we believe the best connections and ideas come from being in the room together, so we work in person a few days a week. But we also build flexibility into every part of our product, and our culture, so people can do great work without burning out.

Robin is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to help shape how quality is built into our product, from early planning and development through testing, automation, and release.

You’ll join a hybrid Zagreb-based team that works in person several days a week to collaborate quickly, learn together, and ship meaningful work.

Why this role exists:

As Robin continues to grow, so does the complexity of our product. This role exists to strengthen quality across the development lifecycle by improving test strategy, automation, technical investigation, and the way Engineering approaches quality as a whole.

You’ll bring a strong quality perspective throughout the development lifecycle, combining exploratory and risk-based testing with automation and technical investigation. You’ll work closely with engineers to make software more testable, strengthen our QA practices, and help the team catch problems earlier and release with greater confidence.

What you'll do:

  • Shape quality early: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design during planning and refinement to clarify requirements, identify risks and edge cases, and influence how features are built before testing begins.

  • Validate incrementally: Test smaller deliveries throughout longer development cycles, combining exploratory, smoke, and regression testing to provide fast feedback and protect critical user workflows.

  • Own the team's test strategy: Define risk-based test approaches and coverage across web, mobile, APIs, and integrations, ensuring the right balance of manual and automated testing.

  • Own automation and CI/CD quality: Build, maintain, and improve automated tests and their integration into CI/CD, focusing on meaningful coverage, reliability, maintainability, and execution speed.

  • Test services and integrations: Validate REST APIs, GraphQL queries and mutations, integrations, and system behavior across layers using application data and technical tooling.

  • Investigate problems deeply: Reproduce complex and customer-reported issues, inspect logs and traces, isolate likely root causes, and provide developers with clear, actionable findings.

  • Raise the engineering quality bar: Partner with developers on testability and quality-minded development, helping prevent defects rather than simply identifying them after implementation.

  • Improve and evolve QA practices: Define and continuously improve quality standards, processes, and tooling, while mentoring QA Engineers and developers on effective testing practices.

  • Use AI as an engineering tool: Apply AI to test design, automation, debugging, defect analysis, and experimentation with emerging QA approaches.

You’ll thrive here if:

You learn fast. You think critically. You care deeply about quality and how software is built.

  • You have strong, hands-on experience writing automated tests, especially for frontend and end-to-end product workflows.

  • You know when automation adds leverage and when careful manual exploration is the better tool for the phase of development.

  • You have excellent attention to detail and a logical, risk-based approach to validating whether a feature truly works as intended.

  • You are comfortable working with REST and GraphQL APIs, basic CI/CD concepts in GitHub Actions, and application logs or traces during investigation.

  • You are enthusiastic, curious, and willing to experiment with new tools and approaches rather than waiting for someone else to define the process.

  • You use AI actively and responsibly, and you are comfortable turning clear specifications into tests and code with AI-assisted workflows.

  • You are a collaborative team player who shares knowledge, challenges assumptions constructively, and treats quality as a shared responsibility.

Core competencies for success:

  • Quality ownership: You think beyond individual test cases and take responsibility for the reliability of the user experience across the delivery lifecycle.

  • Analytical thinking: You break complex behavior into testable scenarios, identify meaningful risks, and connect symptoms to likely causes.

  • Continuous improvement: You build better processes, remove repetitive work, and leave the QA practice stronger than you found it.

  • AI proficiency: You combine clear specifications, engineering judgment, and modern AI tools to improve the speed and quality of your work.

  • Collaboration: You work openly with developers, Product, Design, Support, and distributed teams to solve problems together.

  • Learning velocity: You learn the product, its domain, and its systems quickly, then apply that context to increasingly complex quality challenges.

Benefits that have your back (and your future):

  • Non-qualified stock options – own a piece of what you’re building

  • Flexible vacation policy – take the time you need (and yes, we actually do!)

  • Christmas, Easter and vacation - bonuses paid throughout the year

  • Covered transportation costs - in accordance with local regulations

  • Covered supplementary health insurance - support for additional health insurance

  • Annual general medical examination - a simple way to stay ahead of your health

  • MultiSport membership - stay active in a way that works for you

Perks that enable your continued success:

  • Professional Development & AI Tools Stipend

  • Referral Bonus Program

  • Recognition perks

  • In-Office Commuter Stipend
