Estimator

Rogers-O’Brien is seeking an experienced Estimator to support our Preconstruction team. This role is responsible for evaluating bid documents, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and developing accurate estimates to help win and deliver successful commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review bid specifications, drawings, and related documents to fully understand project scope

  • Perform quantity take-offs and input data into estimating software

  • Solicit, track, and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids

  • Monitor subcontractor participation to ensure full bid coverage

  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project interviews as needed

  • Prepare bid tabulations, qualification attachments, and post-bid files

  • Submit and follow up on RFIs during the bidding process

  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents on schedules and constructability considerations

  • Assist with conceptual estimates based on limited information

  • Maintain and update subcontractor and supplier databases

  • Support bid day activities with the Preconstruction Services team

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 2 years of preconstruction experience in commercial construction

  • Experience estimating projects in the $5M–$15M+ range preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze drawings and specifications

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

  • Technology & Tools: On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, SmartBid, or Building Connected and Destini or Sage Estimating(preferred)
