Assistant Estimator

The Assistant Estimator is an entry-level role that supports the Preconstruction team while developing foundational estimating skills through hands-on experience. This position provides on-the-job training under the guidance of experienced Estimators and offers exposure to all aspects of the bidding and preconstruction process. The Assistant Estimator will receive training in company systems and software, RO Quality Education, safety standards (including OSHA regulations), and Rogers-O’Brien policies and procedures. In addition to supporting estimating efforts, this role provides administrative and coordination support to the Preconstruction department.

Responsibilities:

Preconstruction & Bidding Support

  • Coordinate with architects, designers, and owners to obtain and distribute bid documents

  • Assist in building and maintaining subcontractor and vendor bid lists

  • Issue bid solicitations, addenda, and other bid-related communications

  • Support subcontractor outreach and help ensure complete bid coverage

  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and tracking vendor and subcontractor quotes

  • Support bid day activities, including document distribution, bid tabulation, and coordination logistics

  • Assist with post-bid follow-up, documentation, and file organization

Administrative & Database Management

  • Maintain and update the master subcontractor/vendor database

  • Organize and maintain digital and physical project files

  • Prepare and format internal and external correspondence

  • Perform data entry, scanning, archiving, and reporting as needed

  • Support special projects and general office functions within Preconstruction
