Position Purpose: The Campus Safety Leader is responsible for leading and managing safety programs across multiple data center campuses, ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to safety. This role requires a strong operational understanding of mission-critical environments and the ability to drive cultural safety engagement across complex, high-security campuses. The Campus Safety Leader will serve as a safety resource and mentor to site-level safety professionals, collaborate with both RO employees and all trade partners.
Responsibilities:
· Champion and model a strong safety culture aligned with RO “Safety Starts With Me” Core Value across multiple locations.
· Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to promote a culture of safety and mitigate potential risks.
· Coordinate safety planning, audits, training, and compliance measures across multiple data centers.
· Conduct routine audits across campuses, reviewing safety documentation, field conditions, and team adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and RO Safety Policies.
· Lead incident investigations and drive root cause analysis; follow through with corrective action implementation.
· Mentor on-site safety managers and ensure consistency of safety practices across all assigned campuses.
· Oversee campus-specific safety orientations and training initiatives for employees, contractors, and vendors.
· Lead regular safety stand-downs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings across data center sites.
· Partner with Regional Safety Manager and RO Safety Director to drive continuous improvement of safety systems and RO and departmental KPIs.
· Lead emergency response preparedness and drills across campus environments.
Qualifications:
· 10+ years of progressive safety experience in construction data center settings.
· Experience managing safety programs across multiple job sites or facilities.
· In-depth understanding of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other applicable standards.
· Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHST, or other relevant designation preferred.
· BCSP; OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500 preferred.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel frequently.
Physical Requirements
· Constant adequate range of motion and mobility required.
· Regular sitting or standing, bending, or stooping, and the ability to carry equipment and other such items as packaged material weighing up to 20 pounds
· Frequent talking and the ability to express and exchange ideas by means of language
· Regular hearing and the ability to perceive the nature of sounds
· Regular near acuity with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less required
· Constant ability to read, record or type data quickly and accurately required
· Typical ability to collect and analyze numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions and ability to determine the time, place and sequence of operations or actions required
Environmental/Working Conditions
· Ability to work under and handle stress in an appropriate manner required.
· May be exposed to high, medium, or low noise intensity.
· Constant contact with co-workers required.
· This is a full-time position. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.
· Must be willing to travel if necessary.
