Platform Tech Lead

Company Overview:

Sarvam.ai is a pioneering generative AI startup headquartered in Bengaluru, India. Our mission is to make generative AI accessible and impactful for Bharat. Founded by a team of AI experts, Sarvam.ai is dedicated to developing cost-effective, high-performance AI agents tailored for the Indian market, enabling enterprises to tap into new opportunities and foster deeper customer connections. Join us in reshaping AI for India and beyond.

Job Summary:

At Sarvam, we are training frontier-scale models and building the OS for multi-agent intelligence. Our stack has three layers:

First-party apps (consumer + enterprise) that go beyond ChatGPT in UX and deep research workflows.

Developer Harness that lets developers author, debug, eval, and auto-optimize agent systems — a true IDE for agents.

Execution Layer (OS) with primitives like schedulers, telemetry, durable execution, and context management.

We are customer-obsessed purists, solving hard technical problems in a world-class manner. This is not incremental software; these are unsolved frontier problems. We are assembling a 20-member team of the highest density of talent in India.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the Harness + OS team building the foundation for multi-agent intelligence.

  • Architect primitives: schedulers, execution engines, durable state management, context monorepos.

  • Build developer harnesses: SDKs, eval frameworks, debugging and observability tools.

  • Solve frontier-scale engineering problems where no reference implementations exist.

  • Mentor systems and devtools engineers; establish coding standards and architectural rigor

Ideal background / experience:

You’ve architected distributed infra, runtimes, or compiler-like systems. You’ve thrived in environments where determinism, concurrency, and formal systems thinking mattered. You may have worked in deep infra startups, research-driven labs, or OSS systems projects.
