The Role
Seremoni Seafoods is seeking a Cost Accountant to support our seafood processing operations in Tacoma, WA. This role sits directly within the plant and serves as a key operational finance partner across production, inventory, logistics, and accounting.
This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting plant operational and financial information, with a primary focus on production costs, inventory accounting, operational KPIs, and financial accuracy. The objective of this role is to provide timely, reliable information that enables leadership to make strong operational and strategic decisions.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-moving operational environments and enjoys building systems, structure, and reporting rigor within a growing company.
What you get to do:
Calculate and analyze production costs per batch and per product, ensuring accurate allocation of raw materials, labor, and overhead
Analyze production data and operational metrics to support reliable decision-making
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly production closures and reporting
Track and report key plant KPIs including yield, throughput, productivity, waste, shrinkage, and labor efficiency
Analyze cost and operational variances, identifying trends and root causes
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning processes
Help develop scalable costing methodologies and reporting systems as operations grow
Perform inventory valuation across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
Coordinate with Operations and Logistics teams on physical inventory counts and cycle counts
Reconcile inventory discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy processes
Monitor inventory movement, usage, shrinkage, and operational reconciliation workflows
Support month-end close procedures related to inventory and plant accounting
Support day-to-day AP/AR activities tied to plant operations
Maintain accurate bookkeeping and operational accounting records
Assist with reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and month-end close activities
Ensure operational and financial data remain accurate, organized, and audit-ready
Partner with external accounting resources and internal leadership as needed
Generate and maintain plant management reports and KPI dashboards
Serve as a primary administrator for plant operational and accounting systems (ERP, inventory platforms, or Excel-based tools)
Ensure data integrity and accuracy across plant reporting systems
Improve documentation, controls, and financial processes as the company scales
Build reporting visibility that supports both operational execution and leadership decision-making
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
3–6+ years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, or plant finance
Experience working in manufacturing, food production, seafood processing, cold chain, or industrial operations preferred
Strong understanding of inventory accounting and operational finance processes
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working in ERP or inventory management systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with production, logistics, operations, and finance teams
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with developing systems and processes
Ability to balance detailed execution with operational decision support

This role is onsite at our Tacoma processing facility
The role works closely with plant operations and leadership teams on a daily basis
Some schedule flexibility may be required during inventory counts, production peaks, or month-end close
