Role Overview:

Our MERN stack team is passionate about technology, and we love building scalable web solutions, keeping performance in mind. We are looking for a hands-on MERN Tech Lead who can lead a pod of 4–5 engineers while actively contributing to production code. This is not a pure solutioning or oversight role, where you will be expected to design, build, review, and deliver high-quality features, while also acting as a technical anchor for client engagements. You will play a critical role in driving delivery for strategic accounts, establishing technical credibility with clients, and balancing coding, leadership & client communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute 50–60% hands-on coding across React, Node.js, and MongoDB or PostgreSQL

  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable full-stack solutions

  • Write clean, testable, production-grade code and enforce code quality via reviews

  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and performance bottlenecks

  • Lead a small team of engineers with clear ownership of delivery

  • Drive sprint planning, task breakdown, and technical execution

  • Mentor team members and elevate overall code quality and productivity

  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, architecture patterns, and best practices

  • Act as a technical SPOC for clients

  • Participate in requirement discussions, estimations, and technical proposals

  • Build trust with clients through strong technical execution and communication

  • Contribute to account growth by identifying opportunities and improvements

  • Define scalable architecture for MERN applications

  • Guide frontend architecture (React/Next.js, state management, performance)

  • Design backend services (Node.js, Express/NestJS, APIs, database modeling)

  • Implement best practices for security, caching, and scalability

  • Introduce and enforce modern tooling (Vite, NX, CI/CD pipelines)

  • Implement testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E)

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity

  • Ensure performance optimization and observability standards

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in full-stack JavaScript development (MERN)

  • Strong hands-on expertise in:

    • React.js / Next.js

    • Node.js (Express.js or NestJS)

    • MongoDB and PostgreSQL (schema design, performance tuning)

  • Solid understanding of system design, API architecture, and scalability

  • Proven experience leading small teams (4–6 engineers) while coding actively

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in production environments

  • Experience working directly with clients in requirement gathering and delivery

  • Knowledge of state management (Redux, React Query, etc.)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, cloud deployments (AWS preferred), and DevOps basics

Major highlights for the Role:

  • Experience with GraphQL and modern API design patterns

  • Exposure to microservices and modular architectures

  • Experience with Next.js SSR/SSG and performance optimization

  • Familiarity with NX monorepos or similar tooling

  • Experience in multi-tenant SaaS applications

  • Hands-on with Redis, caching strategies, or messaging queues

  • Experience contributing to pre-sales, POCs, or technical proposals
