This role sits directly alongside the Founder and operates at the center of the company. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure the CEO is operating at maximum effectiveness.

This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes pride in being the operational backbone behind a high-performing executive.

🎯 About the Role

We’re looking for an Executive Assistant to the CEO, John Hu, to act as the operational backbone of the business and an extension of the CEO in all day-to-day matters.

In this role, you will own John's calendar, communications, travel, and personal logistics end-to-end, while proactively identifying and solving problems before they arise. You will partner closely with the Founder and team to ensure time, priorities, and energy are directed toward the highest-impact work.

This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role with significant ownership and visibility.

🛠️ What You’ll Do

  • Own and manage the CEO's calendar, inbox, scheduling, and travel with full autonomy

  • Act as a gatekeeper and decision-maker on priorities, ensuring the CEO's time is spent on the highest-impact work

  • Maintain high responsiveness across Slack, email, and text - triaging and acting on urgent needs quickly and reliably

  • Anticipate problems across work, travel, and personal logistics and resolve them before they escalate

  • Bring structure to chaos - organizing information, priorities, and workflows into clear systems

  • Build and improve systems, automations, and workflows (including leveraging AI) to increase efficiency and scale your impact

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and execution

  • Support office and operational needs in the Venice Beach location

  • Own the CEO's day-to-day operations completely - calendar, inbox, scheduling, and travel are fully managed with minimal oversight

  • Become deeply embedded in the company - fluent in priorities, context, and how the business operates; a go-to resource for the team

  • Operate as a proactive partner - anticipating needs, solving problems before they surface, and keeping the Founder ahead of what’s coming

  • Establish strong systems for responsiveness and prioritization - ensuring urgent matters are handled quickly and nothing falls through the cracks

🔍 You’ll Likely Succeed If You Have

  • Experience supporting a Founder, executive, or operating leader in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong ownership mindset - you take responsibility end-to-end and follow through

  • Excellent judgment and prioritization skills - you can make decisions on behalf of an executive

  • High responsiveness and dependability - you are known for being fast, reliable, and on top of things

  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and bring order to chaotic situations

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface across all levels of the organization

  • Experience building systems, workflows, or automations to improve efficiency

  • Comfort working at a high level of intensity and availability

  • Experience in early-stage startups or high-growth environments

  • Experience acting as a Chief of Staff or senior EA to a Founder

  • Strong proficiency with AI tools and building workflows beyond basic usage
