You will lead compliance for StashAway Singapore  acting as a strategic advisor to Product, Marketing, and Leadership, while ensuring we meet and exceed MAS regulatory expectations.

This is not a traditional compliance role. We are looking for someone who combines strong regulatory expertise with sharp business acumen, someone who can enable growth, shape products, and influence decisions. This role reports directly to the Group Chief Compliance & Risk Officer (CCRO).

This role is ideal for a compliance professional who wants to operate at the intersection of technology, regulation product, marketing, and innovation and take ownership of compliance in a fast-scaling fintech.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Partner to the Business (Core Priority)

  • Act as the trusted advisor to Product, Marketing, and Business teams on MAS regulations/obligations.

  • Work closely with Product teams to shape compliant-by-design solutions

  • Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially viable guidance — while clearly assessing and documenting not theoretical interpretations.

  • Balance regulatory requirements with speed, user experience, and business impact.

  • Embed a Culture of Compliance across the Company through leadership influence coaching and training programmes.

Product & Marketing Compliance Advisory 

  • Advise on new products, platform changes, and innovation initiatives

  • Sign off on product initiatives from a compliance perspective

  • Provide hands-on guidance on marketing campaigns, content, and communications

  • Act as a key decision-maker on marketing compliance approvals

  • Build strong relationships with Product and Marketing to drive high adoption of compliance guidance

Own the Singapore Compliance Framework End-to-End

  • Ensure the business consistently meets MAS expectations across licensing, new product features and all fund management and advisory activities.

  • Be a key player in designing and implementing the compliance framework for new business initiatives in Singapore.

  • Lead all aspects pertaining to internal reviews, audits, and regulatory  enquiries, inspection and suveys. 

  • Drive rapid and effective remediation of issues, complaints 

  • Ensure full compliance with MAS regulations across SFA, FAA, PDPA, TRM and other ancilliary and supporting regulations.

Design & Operationalize Policies 

  • Build and maintain practical, business-aligned Group  policies and develop scalable frameworks, playbooks, and standards that can be consistently applied across jurisdictions.

  • Ensure policies are fully embedded into operations, systems, and controls

  • Lead regulatory change management

Drive Monitoring, Reporting & Governance Regulatory Intelligence

  • Establish robust compliance monitoring and reporting frameworks.

  • Provide clear, decision-useful insights to senior leadership and Group CCRO

  • Ensure early identification of regulatory changes and risks

  • Drive all governance requirements, board and committee obligations for Singapore entities.

  • Manage the overall compliance risk.

  • Build and maintain a compliance culture across the Group.

Lead Regulatory Engagement with MAS

  • Act as the primary point of contact with MAS in Singapore

  • Support licensing, approvals, and regulatory interactions

  • Build credibility and trust with regulators

Who Are You

  • Deep expertise in MAS regulations (CMS, SFA, FAA, discretionary portfolio management, wealth management)

  • 10–12+ years of experience in fintech, asset management, brokerages, banks or financial services,  consultancy and advisory businesses

  • Proven ability to partner with business stakeholders and design sustainable solutions

  • Experience engaging directly with MAS

  • Excellent communication and articulation skills — able to simplify complex regulations to stakeholders.

Accountability of the role

  • Regulatory Stewardship & MAS Relation - Serve as the primary point of contact for the MAS, ensuring the firm remains in good standing.

  • Accountable for identifying, interpreting, and communicating the impact of new MAS circulars and legislative changes to the Board and senior stakeholders.

  • Accountable for the regulatory approval of new product launches, ensuring digital wealth/robo-advisory features comply with business conduct requirements and suitability standards.
