About the Role
TechnoMile is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join our Sales team. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you'll lead the technical strategy for TechnoMile's complex sales opportunities, partnering with account executives to connect a prospective client's business and technical needs to TechnoMile's AI native Growth, Contracts, and SIMS solutions. You'll own technical discovery, tailored demonstrations, solution design, competitive positioning, and pilot planning across multi-stakeholder enterprise evaluations.
We believe this role is perfect for someone looking to deepen their command of enterprise sales strategy while working at the intersection of government contracting and AI-powered software. As part of a company that's building AI-enabled products, we're looking for someone who is comfortable using AI tools to enhance their own work and accelerate outcomes. You'll be part of a culture that values experimentation, continuous learning, and finding smarter ways to solve problems.
This role is open to candidates located in the U.S. and is a hybrid role reporting to our McLean, VA office.
About the Team
Our Sales team is made up of sales reps, sales engineers, and revenue operations. Together, we are responsible for connecting prospective customers' business and technical requirements to TechnoMile's product suite through disciplined discovery, tailored demonstrations, and structured pilot evaluations across complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles.
What You'll Work On
Lead technical discovery for complex enterprise opportunities, including current workflows, systems, data, integrations, security requirements, decision criteria, and business outcomes.
Develop the technical win strategy with the account executive, including stakeholder coverage, competitive differentiation, proof points, risks, and the plan for resolving open questions.
Design and deliver tailored demonstrations that show how TechnoMile addresses each client's government contracting processes and priority use cases.
Translate business and technical requirements into a clear solution approach across TechnoMile products, Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics, ERPs, relevant data sources, and adjacent enterprise systems.
Respond to technical objections in real time and build confidence with buyers including operational leaders, VPs of Contracts, CAOs, CLOs, CGOs, CIOs, CTOs, enterprise architects, security leaders, and IT teams.
Plan and lead pilots, workshops, and structured evaluations with defined scope, success criteria, responsibilities, and decision milestones.
Support competitive displacements by identifying the customer's reasons for change and demonstrating a differentiated, lower-risk path forward.
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Services, Customer Success, and Security teams to validate commitments, shape implementation assumptions, and ensure a clean transition after the sale.
Contribute to RFIs, RFPs, and security reviews, including architecture discussions and the technical portions of proposals and statements of work.
Leverage AI and automation tools to improve efficiency, drive innovation, and deliver high-quality work across your area of expertise.
What We're Looking For
Experience: Four or more years of sales engineering, solutions consulting, presales, or comparable customer-facing solution experience in enterprise software, including orchestrating complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles as the technical lead from discovery through decision.
Discovery & communication: Strong discovery skills, including the ability to move from stated requirements to underlying workflows, risks, constraints, and success measures, and to communicate technical concepts in clear business language with senior technical buyers.
Technical fluency: Working knowledge of enterprise SaaS architecture, APIs, integrations, identity and access management, data migration, security reviews, and implementation considerations.
Judgment under pressure: Strong judgment, including the ability to answer directly, identify when validation is needed, and coordinate the right internal experts, while managing multiple active evaluations and maintaining accurate CRM documentation.
AI fluency: Hands-on experience using generative AI and automation tools to boost productivity, and sound judgment on when to lean on AI versus human insight.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel for customer meetings, demonstrations, workshops, and company events as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with contract lifecycle management, CRM, ERP, enterprise asset management, industrial security, proposal or capture management, or related enterprise workflows.
Knowledge of government contracting, aerospace and defense, the defense industrial base, or federal systems integrators.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, SharePoint, or government contractor ERP platforms including Unison, Unanet, Costpoint, and JAMIS.
Familiarity with AI-enabled enterprise applications, document processing, analytics, or data products.
Experience supporting competitive replacements, formal pilots, or structured enterprise software evaluations.
Our Tech Stack
You'll work with technologies like: Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics, government contractor ERP platforms (Unison, Unanet, Costpoint, JAMIS), and TechnoMile's AI-native Growth, Contracts, and SIMS product suite.
